PVP - Archer/Bard Bug - NEED HELP TO CONFIRM

    Hi guys,

Reasons and opinions aside why I might be testing ARCHER in PVP, I have been experiencing noticeably LOWER numbers appearing while playing my ARCHER rather than my BARD in PVP.

I am aware of the fact the Job crystal reduces your dexterity by 20, however the damage reduction I am experiencing is MUCH higher. Around 30-50%

I have tested this outside PVP on a lvl 50 training dummy, and did not experience such a large difference.

However, because this problem is within Frontlines, it is very difficult to test and give you concrete numbers.

    In conclusion:

    IN FRONTLINES:
    Archer DMG: LOW (consistantly low)
Bard DMG: NORMAL (changes with distance)

    OUTSIDE FRONTLINES:
Archer DMG: NORMAL (does not change with distance)
Bard DMG: NORMAL (does not change with distance)

The biggest clue is that I've noticed that Farshot, the PVP skill that does NOT take ARC/BRD's distance nerf into consideration hits for approximately the same amount for both Bard and Archer.

In other words, I strongly believe that while Archers AND Bards have a damage nerf in Frontlines, only BARDS can regain damage by being the correct distance away from the target.

FOR WHATEVER REASON THIS IS NOT THE CASE FOR ARCHERS. I WOULD LIKE TO CONFIRM WHETHER OR NOT THIS IS A BUG. JUDGING BY THE WAY SE HAS TREATED CLASSES UP UNTIL NOW I THINK THE LATTER IS THE CASE.

If you noticed this from Frontline, it is probably a delusion because you don't have a set of fixed variables. When those Japanese attempts to figure out this archery distance potency, it is done in the ilvl 80 Wolf Den. On the Frontline, your opponent will be constantly moving and have flat percentage damage reduction, it won't be accurate.

I don't think it's a delusion. I've pvped enough to know that something is OFF about the damage, but because it only happens in PVP it's hard to test. That's why I wanted to point it out to the public, and see the response there. So instead of calling me delusional, please try it yourself and just observe. That's the best I can hope for at the moment because of the lack of an area to do a fixed test.

What's the best way of getting to this information? I don't know how they did it in the Japanese servers but there are no test dummies I know of in PVP zones. Furthermore, because we're not allowed to do DPS checks how it is possible that we (or they) came up with relevant information?

I've tested it out on the dummies on the Pier for Wolves den and they do not take into account the damage reduction for bards.

Why run as archer? What cross skills are you using to make up for the loss of 20 dex, even if there were not some possible additional bug?

For solo steal outpost, ambush between enemy spawn to flag node, archer is better because of:

    Stoneskin
    Awareness
    Cure and convalescence
    Mercy stroke
    Bloodbath
    Virus

Above abilities are all better than 20 dex

I've already retested, and I'm terribly sorry. You're right - I WAS being delusional.

I've done it over and over. In fact over-all my Archer is dealing considerably more damage than my Bard purely because I'm staying alive longer.

Divinemight is right. For PVP aiming for more utility and survival based abilities far outweighs 20 dex, and I've gotten alot of shit for it. If you see this post these are the important abilities that I consider make Archer FAR superior to the Bard.

    Stoneskin
    Swiftcast
    Awareness
    Cure (don't really agree)
    convalescence (maybe? Not really)
    Mercy stroke
    Bloodbath
    Eye for an Eye
    Virus

in addition to this you should ALREADY be using even if you are a Bard:

    Feint
    Flurry
    Inner Focus
    Second Wind

Also, considering how many Bards go into Frontlines, I would say that they should be more than capable of keeping a single Foe's Req. up (which they DO NOT most of the time, mind you) between however so many Bards there are in a group of 24.
