When I was trying to form a static in my last FC, I was willing to run people through Turn 5 that just couldn't find the right group to do so. I felt that it would build trust and we would be able to work at as team.
The problem was ... the moment they get their T5 kill, they leave for 'something better'. I believe this might be the reason why FC's are requiring a T5 kill, because there is no loyalty anymore.
Same with T9 farm groups that only want exp players ... All the mistrust and people getting their loot and quitting is leaving a bad taste. I know it isn't fair to blame everyone, but personally, I went through running 5 people through T5 ... none of them stayed a week after that.

Yes, I've seen this too... it's an understandable position for FCs that want to raid SCoB to take. When I was trying to form a static in my last FC, I was willing to run people through Turn 5 that just couldn't find the right group to do so. To that end, though... I think the OP was basically saying that, for example, a T5 kill shouldn't be required to get into SCoB. More generally, new content shouldn't be gated by out of fashion content... that "out of fashion" part actually matters a lot in this game.
I'm leaning towards agreeing. Unless there's a better solution out there...
They did that with Garuda, Titan and Ifrit in regards to Levi and Moogle. I believe that they will probably do the same with Ramuh and remove the Levi/Moogle requirement once Shiva comes out.
I also believe that once the Third Coil comes out, they remove the T5 kill requirement for getting into T6 (Plus Echo for ScoB) ... They said they removed the requirement for Levi/Moogle because the original primals are all 'old content' or something like that.

But then is TCoB going to be gated by T9? I'm sure, like T5 when SCoB first hit, plenty of people will be doing it at first... but over time we'll run into the same problem. Newbies, returning players, etc etc will run into a wall trying to get up on current content, unless they're lucky enough to find someone to bring them in or give them a run. (Or have the gil for a merc run... possibly some would turn to RMT, a la T5 right now.)They did that with Garuda, Titan and Ifrit in regards to Levi and Moogle. Perhaps it's cultural difference between the EU and US which play part in this, seeing as to how both your server and Risvertasashi are US based and in US people in general can be a tad more advancement minded in life. However I must say that out of the people who join my FC there's a very small fraction which leaves after we help them through T5 or other content. When I was trying to form a static in my last FC, I was willing to run people through Turn 5 that just couldn't find the right group to do so. Another possible factor in play could be our requirement for new members to first apply to our website. In general for guild hoppers this proves a barrier most don't want to go through.
Even though if about 80% or so would leave again though, does it truly matter? Yes, it's a bit unrewarding obviously after you help them out. However, it's a quick and easy help. And the investment in those who do decide to stay can be more than worth it in the long run.
The FC I was in before also required new players to join VIA a website, and it wasn't that they left the FC or were FC Hoppers, it was that they just up and quit the static. They either said nothing or said they couldn't do it anymore, but then joined another static in the FC with the same days/time.
It doesn't bother me to help people through T5 which is why I did it for people because it is easier to complete something with people that are willing to go through it with you. Because like I used to say when I was a manager: "You have to bring in 5 people for 1 to stay." I am not against forming a T5 starting static, I just was commenting that most wont backtrack.
