Proposal
Allow a limited number of party members to join a previous turn than they are currently at as a mentor. Mentors are not allowed to roll on loot, only the pass button is available. Tomes of mythology / soldiery reward is given to mentors the same as any party member.
The numbers of mentors in the party should be limited in such a way it is not possible for only the mentors alone to clear the content, i.e. the mentors can’t carry all the other members of the party.
Details
1. When the party leaders enters the Second Coil of Bahamut, if all the members are on the same turn or on a previous turn as the leader, proceed as usual (including the warning about some member being ahead of the leader if, for example, one member is already at the boss of that turn.)
2. When the party leaders enters the Second Coil of Bahamut, if some members are at a later turn than the party leader, they will prompted with a dialog box to ask if they want to enter that turn as a mentor. If all the mentors agree then everyone enter that turn (provided the leader has the furthest progression on that turn, with the exception of the mentors). If there are too many potential mentors or if member refuse to be a mentor an appropriate error message is displayed.
Example
Party leader is at T2, party members 2 to 4 are at T2, member 5 is at T1, members 6 to 8 are at T4. When the party leader enters the Second Coil of Bahamut, members 6, 7 and 8 are asked if they would like to mentor Second Coil of Bahamut Turn 2, if all agree then T2 is entered (provided the leader has same or furthest T2 progression than members 2 to 4). Once they enter, members 2-5 progression point will be set to wherever the party leader progression is at T2, members 6-8 progression is unaffected. If they clear Turn 2, members 6, 7 and 8 will see their loot dialog box with greed and need disabled, only pass is enabled.
Notes
Mentors can’t roll on loot, even if they didn’t receive any loot in the Second Coil of Bahamut for that week. Mentoring is not a second chance at getting loot. This is not a proposal to make the Second Coil of Bahamut loot system be the same as Syrcus Tower.
I believe this proposal would allow players to enjoy the Second Coil of Bahamut, or any future time/progression locked content, more than once per week and foster a good community. I know many of the best players would be happy to mentor their friends if they were not locked out of the content, even if they couldn’t get any drop.
