Content lock out system hinders returning players.

That's my problem with this system. You have to do things while they are new and if you take a break from the game or fall behind then you are basically stuck outside permanently unless the stars finally align in DF and you can move into current content.

If the population has no interest in helping, the lock out creates an impenetrable wall for new or returning players.

Just don't lock people out at all is what I am asking. Its pointless if it creates a hurtle for otherwise capable players.

I don't understand this part. There are not lockouts except for Second Coil at the moment. Those restrictions will be lifted when the next set of Endgame Raids come about, so that new players aren't left behind)

There's nothing stopping new players from getting together to complete this content, or to get help from Veterans.

I think he means it in the sense that you can't do SCoB until you've done T5, but there are not a lot of competent T5 groups available at the moment. I just recently unlocked SCoB myself, but only because I was able to get a run with people up on current content.

People are still trying to do T5, but mostly failing.

You have plenty of time to catch up. (5-6 months)

Wow you're a really caustic poisonous person aren't you. You have no idea how long I have been attempting to catch up (2 and a half months thank you) since I returned to the game after turning it off because college studies were more important.

I have a legitimate gripe after trying for a long while and realizing that this games community doesn't care to help catch people up. You basically act like I just started the game yesterday and want to be at the top of the mountain today. That's not the case.

As someone who has worked a full time job, a full time graduate student, and a part time husband (all at the same time), I have managed to clear all the content in the game, I have zero sympathies for your time management issues/learning disability.

If you can't find a group of people you can get along with that can help you catch up, your the problem. It is that simple.

That said.
To catch up all you need to do is farm hunts / run roulette's / run ST until your full 110. You don't even need a group.

This will catch you up on gear, but not content.

The most fundamental lockout in the game is the weekly capped tomes. Combined with CT/ST being once per week and you have a very odd way of SE defining "systems designed to let players catch up."

The lockout I am mostly referring to is needing Thornmarch EX and Whorleater EX in order to move on to Striking Tree EX. That is a lock out.

But not many want to do battles like Thornmarch EX. It drops a i100 neck easily replaced quickly with hunts unless it specifically has stats you want. May be its just my server, but Leviathan server treats this primal with a pessimism like none seen before. Its very hard to get a group together. In DF at peak hours I will wait upwards to 40 mins just to get a group formed.

However people LOVE weapons, so its very easy to get LEX completed.

In other words, Thornmarch EX has become very undesirable and its stupid that is a unlock requirement to advance to The Striking Tree EX.
