You can continuously feed within the 6hour period, but I think maybe the message is supposed to act as like a cap, and maybe a cap for just that fruit? Not sure though, theorycrafting :x

Good to know. I'm trying to play catch up, so I'll plant some seeds tonight and see how it goes in a few days.
