I have over 4000 2.0 achievement points, and I think the e-peen boost I get from that is more than reward enough already.
Ah, I'm feeling rewarded right now ;p

I would personally just like for my achievements to show on Lodestone - unless they already do and I'm just totally not seeing it - the way they show on the armoury for WoW. I like browsing people's achievements to see what they've done and haven't done. It shows what kinda player they are, it's neat. :3

there are people with 5k+ score that haven't played 1.0 and it's currently possible to have 6k+ if you add the total points up. also where'd you get those 5 people with 7k+ score from?

Right side of the page, it has an Achievements tab, this Achievement History just below that title. It shows the last 3 the person earned, and when. It also has a 'See More' button to show the full list. If it isn't there, they have the option turned off.I would personally just like for my achievements to show on Lodestone - unless they already do and I'm just totally not seeing it - the way they show on the armoury for WoW. It seems like this must have been a planned feature from the beginning. Otherwise, we wouldn't have those points. Their only purpose is to earn something-or-other that's not in game yet, so it currently feels like a half-completed feature that should either be removed or finished. My vote would be for finishing it, and giving these points a purpose.
Oh, and as far as the concern about 1.0 achievements goes, just don't set any of the reward levels high enough to actually require more points than are possible to get with 2.x achievements. Legacy players would have a head-start, but no additional exclusives.

Ooh, thank you! That's why I didn't know, everyone I clicked until now said I don't have permission to view it. I figured it just meant the option wasn't there yet. :<
It'd be nice to have a screen that lets you compare someone's achievements to your own, though. I use that as a sort of a guide to find the one I'm looking for.
Currently there are no plans to make achievement points have a use for something like tokens or items. The system is intended to be an element that you can enjoy and share with friends, and one which shows how much you've played FFXIV and what feats you have overcome.

I believe you misunderstand some of the sentiment here.
Many of us contest that this should not be a form of currency, but a long long term form of fame within the game, such as, every thousand or so points would offer a minion or mount or glamour (also from the master of the rolls npc), something trivial sure, but representative of our commitment to complete many obscure challenges, just like the subscription reward represents our commitment to simply continue subbing.

Achievements and achievement points should be more accessible as far as comparing and showing off. They don't need rewards or anything like that. Achiev's are bragging rights and should be just that much like the brutal raid. I wouldnt mind an announcement in party/fc/ls's or to link them in to chat or the ability to compare achiev's. BUT no they shouldnt award anything other then the points they give.
