    I'm glad their looking into a way to implement pet jobs and chocobo raising/ "mount" system or w/e. But I would like pet classes instead of pet jobs, but this game needs time to cook in the oven, in like two years it'd be cool if we had really unique thought about pet classes ^^

    Here are some additional comments that Yoshida made over the weekend regarding the upcoming chocobo-related content.

    If cultivation is implemented, I would like to have gardens implemented as well. It would be nice to have a garden in front of your house, so let’s test this out.

    interesting data, but then, in 1.19 we are getting rental chocobos or personal chocobos?

    I'm betting it's Dressing up chocobo as in having them wear Gears/Armors and having a Chocobo Cavalry Combat. Imo I think it's a pretty cool Idea :P

    From FFXI:

    The Chocobo Knights were active combat units some twenty years before original game events. Bred in San d'Oria the Chocobo Knight mounts underwent training that allowed them to bear the weight of heavy armor and withstand the shock of cavalry charges. Known as Destriers the Chocobo were characterized by their large, jet-black bodies and thick, powerful legs. With the decline of lance combat and improvements to ranged weaponry, Destriers lost their place in battle to the faster breeds; such as Coursers. The Chocobo Knights would be gradually faded out of the battlefield.

    I realize pet classes/jobs are difficult to program and implement, especially delicate ones like SMN, and for this I am rather patient with them waiting for pets to make a showing.

    Having said this, the way Yoshi spoke about it made it sound like the job system would be in place before pets would make an appearance (IE the first batch of release jobs/extra classes etc would not be pet related.)

    However Dragoon was listed in the announced/planned job titles.

    If they are planning to release DRG without a wyvern, whether they plan to add the pet later on or make DRG a pet-less job, I say don't f-ing do it. You take away my wyvern and I swear I will go find you in Japan Yoshi. . .(all kidding aside, please don't make DRG pet-less, from FFXI a wyvern has become the heart of DRG for many of the players)

    Traditionally chocobos have been used for combat. Off the top of my head there were chocobo knights in FFX.
