Any DPSer in WoW going for a world first will have spent time on dummies and other encounters analysing and optimising themselves with a parser. I would mention world of raids but given your disdain for parsers, I can only tremble at your likely opinion of that would be

Recording and replaying footage from attempts is just a different way of achieving the same thing and frankly, the two compliment itself brilliantly.

Not entirely since even down times are expected in fights that have a lot of mechanics where some decisions are gonna end up hurtful in the long run since they are individual judgmental calls that can end up being hurtful later on.

Yet so many players easily rage at a wipe instead of realizing those faults and that all is left is a simply trying to better execute everything as a group.

There were multiple examples as for the uses of parsers in this very thread. If you decide to ignore them, that's your prerogative but don't come and claim people did not give valid one.

How do any arguments about how useful they are have anything to with the fact that they are against ToS? I for one know they can be useful, I would be fine if they put one in, but as long as they are against ToS, I see no argument anyone could give that would make them ok to use in this game.

I don't care about your arguments with Gormogon, you said there were plenty of examples of the uses of parsers in this thread, I stated that it doesn't matter how compelling the argument for the parsers are, as long as they are against ToS, there is no reason good enough to use them.

Yet if no one says anything because they are against the ToS, that ruling will never change. If people show enough interest over time, while it's not a certainty, that ruling might actually change in the future. So it's better to speak about their benefits than to just stay silent because they are against the ToS.

The very best hardcore players will always have that fire in their belly, it's what drives them. The difference is that the best groups will have leadership capable of keeping that fire directed on the encounter and not each other, but I'm going off topic so I'd better leave that =)
