Edit: And where did they say they wouldn't? Post proof to back your statement? Because others are saying they have plans to make it so you can purchase each option more than once.

There have already been a couple of comments in this thread clarifying the questions brought up, but I’d like to give a bit more of an explanation of the system and the plans moving forward by sharing what Yoshida mentioned during Letter from the Producer LIVE XIV

Purchasing 3 or 5 phials at once will be slightly discounted. Price-wise, as I mentioned during a previous Letter from the Producer LIVE, I’m thinking that around 1000 yen ($10) would be a good balanced price. While we are using this interim system, if you have already purchased the 3 phial set, you’ll only be able to select from 1 phial or the 5 phial set the next time you make a purchase.

Hopefully this clarifies some of the major questions.

Also, in regards to one other question that has risen:

After the Fantasia system changes, if I continue to make characters will my previously purchased Fantasias still be given to my new character?

Yes, even after switching over from the interim system to the official system any Fantasias you purchase with the interim system will be delivered to new characters you create afterwards.
If by any chance there are changes with the official system, we will be sure to make an announcement ahead of time, but as of right now they will without a doubt be sent to your newly created characters.

So for those that like to change their character's skin everyday, I can understand the frustrating situation this pose. Sadly, it feels like Atma threads.

As long as with every new race implemented, they would give us a free phial, that should help.

I've heard rumors that the plan is to have more available once they figure out how to stop having them be service account-wide (you buy a fantasia for your main character, and all alts on that account get fantasias). However, this very well could be a rumor started by the playerbase, I have nothing to quote from SE to back this up. Maybe someone else can add more.

I'm in the same boat. Used up my current options because I was trying different looks out. Luckily, I love the way my character looks now, but I'd still like to be able to purchase more in the future.

Have a good one, and as per the later date from Felis: IIRC, they only allowed one option out of the 1,3 and 5 at first, the other ones coming at a later date. Still 9 max total.

Just out of curiosity - wouldn't it be cheaper and easiser to create a few alts to "try out looks"? Just asking

Just like glamours, where you change outfit everyday, I can see why some wants to change their skins and such to fit with the rest.

Also the voice part from a Lalafell to a Roegadyn, might be >.<
