Fishing suppose to be casual right? WRONG!!!!!

Meh, it's an MMO, grind is the game's middle name. The getaway rate + weather requirements + tiny windows of opportunity + WTF triple mooching in some cases are way too many layers of pure RNG. I have maxed gathering for this patch (393) and went 1/24 on The Matriarch over in Coerthas. I'm in the process of going 0/5 on this damn fish near Quarrymill that's eaten three stacks of bait so far. But you know what, sitting there and praying for a mooch or whatever doesn't bother me.

What bothers me is hunting down weather. We need the freaking weatherman that was promised back in the April Live Letters.

This is why I level fishing. Managed to get this gear, and there are more stuff that I still want

Well obviously casuals wouldn't care about RNG.

They need to at least make it so that the bait you use will catch fish of that level and beyond.

For example a level 20 bait should catch lv 20 fish and beyond. It really gets frustrating if all you get is useless low level junk fish.

Someone at SE was told to go to a gambling anonymous, flipped a table and put all their woes in the game XD...

Will be psyched when some mmo gets around to adding a Zelda-esq fishing game ! (or other games similar). I'd love to play that in an mmo ; ;.


I'd rather catch a million moat carp than gamble, gambling is really boring imo (tried once, made money and still felt bored and stupid for doing it).

It's an MMO, thus RNG.

Beyond that, yes, much of the game is intended to fairly easily completed by everyone... until you hit end tier stuff, such as this new fishing rod. It's no longer 'casual' focused, it exists for those dedicated to achieving it, and nowhere is it implied that they intend for everyone to get it at all, much less while it's still the best gear. This situation is much the same as Atma: designed for people to do in their own time, without any heavy group or skill walls, but not something that they expect all players to actually complete.

Bad thing about RNG is that a player who is casual could get the rod in 15 minutes of fishing because RNG is RNG, and another player could spend 2 hours every day for a year fishing the same spot and never catch one of those fish. It's a bad system for progression of any kind.

And I spent 5 hours yesterday trying to get my 10th HQ silver souvereign for the hat. Then I need another 20. Still haven't caught it.
And this seems even worse

Fishing is casual. Obtaining the ultimate fishing rod and becoming the God-King of Fishing is not.

You should of gone for the rod first after I got the rod the hat was done in 2 nights of SS fishing.

It does not make you god I have the stats that are obtainable with the rod with rod then a free company buff maybe but the rod itself for the amount of effort provides very little increase.

0/32 on The Matriarch right now lol. 0/1 on The Gobfather have not really gave it much time yet :/

11 fish gets away - 42 mooch that where not the legendary and about 24hours total fishing spent I finally caught 1!!! 2 more left *dies*
