This wouldn't help the issue. Tanks and to some extent, healers, fish in dungeons for in progress just to get their daily out of the way. The issues with raid withdrawal is consistent with what other people have said - DPS queues stretch so long that sometimes you look at the "estimate", believe you have time to head to the washroom, and miss the pop. I'd say it's gotten a little worse since the hunts have made so much content irrelevant.

    and so on

Something needs to be done with people who purposely withdraw from the duty to troll. Maybe implement a penalty for withdrawing 3 times in a short period of time because this is getting extremely annoying. Yesterday, there were about 34 withdrawals within like 2-3 minutes.

you think thats bad to a low level roulette while levelling a class 60+mins later get one just to get stone vigil (where your on level) thinking OH BOY MASSIVE EXP and then everyone just bails out :\

I blame grinding in general you said it yourself in this post nobody likes doing it. Either they invoke a system like GTA V and stick all the bad players together to play with each other or they keep the lights going for the percentage of players that still like to play this game the way the devs intended it to be played.

I blame SE for not learning lessons they really, REALLY need to learn. I was shocked that you had to opt-in to in-progress dungeons. Whatever idiot thought that was a good idea only needed to look at a blizzard forum a few years back to learn all the reasons that it wasn't. I can give some clues: Exactly the same thing that people are complaining about here.

Sometimes I think I am stuck in one of those groundhog day timewarps, because everything that SE does, they only halfway copy it from another game, they ignore the lessons those other games learned when it didn't work the way they expected, and the exact same threads with the exact same complaints crop up in the exact same frequency.

If the person withdraws or times out, they should get a quick penalty.
Withdraw, maybe. Time out, absolutely not.

But it has to be opt in how can you opt out if you wanted to do a dungeon from start to finish?

If you were to implement it this way, it would cause people to intentionally time out over and over again, causing you to be held hostage for 45 seconds every time while they spam their queue. I'm all for the incremental penalty approach. Your average player has absolutely no reason to withdraw 3-4 or more times in a short span, so they'll go entirely unaffected, while trolls will be the one to see the penalty.

They just need a flat 1 minute wait penalty for registering again after the instance has been set up, time out or click withdraw. If you time out you were probably away and won't even see the penalty, if you were trolling for in progress you have to wait a minute to troll again. The penalty doesn't need to scale up, or give a free 1-2 times or be so many every so often.

I can't think of any innocent person who would withdraw more than once, and even then waiting out 60s after noticing you picked the wrong dungeon is not gonna kill you.

These people want fast runs, if they had to wait out the whole timer or wait out 1m per withdrawal they wont spam it, do it 5-10 times and that's 5-10 mins lost, making doing the whole run the best option for them.

    They're just trolls.

If people were to stop getting upset over it, they would stop doing it since there's no fun in it anymore.
