15 abilities each? what is this... Kindergarten?A jack of all trades WHM... what is this 1989?
Lol, I was supposed to be the only person allowed to roll on it, but I insisted a friend of mine who only needed the horn be allowed to roll too. She won, of course. We still joke about that on a daily basis in WoW. Anytime I need anything, "BUT YOU HAVE MAH HORN!"
Armada Hauberk
KC
Apocalypse
Mandau
Beating Pandemonium Warden and getting Shenlong's Baghnakhs
It says your best experience in MMORPGS, not just FFXI.
I have many, but I think I can narrow it down to only three.
1.) Getting to level 14 and flight for the first time in City of Heroes. So much anticipation!
2.) My first character 1-60 in classic World of Warcraft. Just wow.
3.) The Moria lead-in questline in Lord of the Rings Online. Amazing.
I have a couple:
Becoming a Jedi in SWG, and soloing NK Necrosis
Beating Maat as a rng in FFXI for level cap, also getting to sky, Tavnazia and sea.
completing Future's Perfect in FFXIV
...but all my best experiences are only from XI...
Honestly in all my 14+ years playing MMOs, I don't recall a single other experience that was any where close to how great a time I had playing XI. To this day XI still trumps everything...
The most recent "Oh wow I want this all the time!" moment came recently in Rift. They're doing a one-time event in honor of their newest dungeon, Hammerknell, and there's invaders from the planes of water and death running all over the place. Logging in, being surrounded by fog and thunderclouds, seeing a town being sacked by invaders, hearing the war horns sound out the call to battle, and suddenly being in a raid group of 20 people, all fighting back the otherworldly invaders, was just so amazing to me.
I would love to be able to log in to XIV, be riding my chocobo down the dusty desert roads of Thanalan, and then suddenly--! The horn sounds out! Garlean invaders are attacking Horizon's Edge! Within moments, nearby adventurers are picking up their arms and racing to the cause, joining forces against a common foe and saving the smallfolk of western Thanalan to live out another day, by the grace of the Twelve.
In other words, I would love it if there were a) randomly generated invasions from enemies like Garleans and beastmen b) auto-join options for raid groups of more than 8 people c) attacks on places like aetheryte camps that must be defended at all costs. I've never had such a spontaneous, thrilling experience in an MMO, and I would really, really like to have that in XIV.
my favorite moments, at least the ones i remember the most, were
getting byako haidates on my nin
soloin aquarius on my nin/thf for the first time
I do agree, it's pretty cool in Rift but it's far from memorable, as it happens 10 times a day.The most recent "Oh wow I want this all the time!" moment came recently in Rift.
