I bet the problem is the server side UI
These are the biggest issues because they filter down into everything else. Can we have a report or BIG news on the progress of the optimization of the FFXIV crystal tool engine and server?
After 10 months without detail ... it's time to update information about the process !
The Technical Advisor Yoshihisa Hashimoto (Next Generation Game Engine Development) can give some good news? yoshi? Rukkirii and Bayohne? God?
Thanks for reply
Note that Yoshi has made allusions to working on the server. He said they cannot change things like targeting system until they work on the server. They seem very hesitant to improve the servers for some reason though.

Crystal tools is already optimised for PS3, because thats the console it was designed for, the PC version of Crystal tools takes alot of adjustments to optimise because programming for PC is completly differant to PS3 programming.According to some bug reports it even seems to have gotten worse (stuttering in towns, crashes, etc.). So I'm also wondering what they are planning and what has already been done. I hope they don't make the mistake to cut the PC version so it looks and feels the same as the PS3 version :/
That's understandable, but what's the status of these changes?
Well we won't get a response until Monday at the earliest. We need to keep this thread alive until then. These changes are not only important to the implementation of features in the game, but the responsiveness and feel of the UI and the client play a big part in the feel of the game itself. These are probably the biggest changes that are going to be made to the game.
I would also like to know this, as a major negative to me is the ridiculous stuttering and disconnections in cities.
Yeah, what's the deal with this? Haven't heard anything...
Yes it's a simple question : what's the status of these changes after 10 months?

All that is certain is that they haven't actually worked on the servers&engine extensively for 10 months. The new management decided to tackle the issues with Hashimoto's help, so I'd guess they have been researching, testing and adjusting for half a year now.
I wouldn't be surprised if it takes them another 6 months to implement the changes to the live servers (on top of everything else they need to be careful not to corrupt our characters) but as said previously, we could still get an answer out of them in regards to what's going on right now.
I'd enjoy the current patches much more knowing that they are working hard at fixing the true core problems of the game that go beyond just game mechanic issues. As someone said, no game mechanic rehaul is going to have as large of an impact on the game as these fixes.
Imagine a snappy, perfectly responsive and smoothly running FFXIV with no hiccups.
That's what I want to see.
