Sure. Fact is, the rings purchased with tomes should always have been done this way. You should be able to equip all gear slots with the same class of gear. Rings being exclusive means you can ever only equip a single ring from that class. I would keep dungeon (including coil) drops unique but those that you purchase with tomes there's no reason why they should be exclusive.
Now, how about you explain your elitist views that people who don't do coil are bad players with a sense of entitlement.

Not only did I not say that, I didn't even imply it. There are many reasons why people don't do Coil, skill is only a partial reason. There are many people who have defeated turns 1, 2, 3 and even 4, yet when you see them in DF, it's like they are new to the game. You can even see my achievements on my lodestone page, I'm not elite so I don't believe I can hold elitist views, lest I be a hypocrite.
Somewhat to the point of your i110 crusade, one can pug all turns except turn 4 with reasonable success so, I believe those who aren't trying Coil right now are either one of two things. Lazy or liability.
I'd also like to counter your argument. I believe the reasoning to making rings unique is to gate players from achieving the max item level easily. It's somewhat of a push to get the player to do other content in hopes of getting that item they need. Tome gear is too easy to obtain so it stands that it shouldn't be allowed to fill up all slots. Then again, one can get i110 on everything else without really trying any of the other content so I'm not sure what SE is doing.

Lots of interesting viewpoints. Not sure why I'm being challenged to prove that I'm not a bad player. If you're on Leviathan, look me up and we'll do some content together. That is the only way of showing capability - not the equipment you've gathered along the way.
As far as why people would want i110 if they're not doing coil, I think you're missing the entire concept behind games such as this. This game is nothing more than Pokemon in a fantasy setting. Gotta get em all. People keep playing the game in order to collect in-game stuff that has no real value in the real world. Don't get me wrong, I like the game (and liked Pokemon too for that matter).
And I do apologize to Exstal. I thought you were a different responder.
BTW, it's very easy for me to get i110 by just equipping a ring that does very little for my job. Maybe the gloam ring for Det which is in short supply on brd equip.

Basically, you are asking to be able to catch Mewtwo without beating the Elite Four.
How about "the coil ring sucks and I want something for my job that is a little more useful then just the 42 hp (3vit) it can give?"
Sorry, but the fending ring sucks and is barely above the level of being a downgrade. A second noct ring would be BIS at least with a 600+ parry build) since it is 19 acc (which gets me to the 502 acc for front facing mobs) vs 13 det which is kinda meh...
I am using the noct/weathered noct pair, but as with anyone else would prefer to be max ilvl.
Here is another reason:
Unique status on items that are bought is stupid. It makes sense that you cant sell or trade to limit the impact on the market, but not being able to buy two of them is stupid.
Just because something has been a certain way for a long time does not mean it wasn't stupid then too.

You didn't need anything more than that. Although, do you see the difference in 1 item level when you're almost at the cap? I'd reckon, "no". I guess it should have been a rhetorical question since I can't even think of a valid reason why it shouldn't be unique.
How curious, I can't think of a valid reason why it should be unique.
