This was like this since the begining of the 2.0. You weren't able to equip 2 DL rings of the same kind. You weren't able to equip 2 Hero rings of the same kind. You weren't able to equip 2 Allagan rings of the same kind. The same applies with Sold rings.

I don't understand people who spam hunts all the time to obtain i110 gear to then use it for nothing?
Whole point of hunts is to help the casual players get stronger the end game content like coils, if you're not doing coils, then no point going past i90/100 since thats more than high enough for ST/Dungeons and Fronlines caps at 80.

Golden rule of the current "catering to the casual" fad in theme-park MMOs.......avoid all group content. if at all possible....

There no point in focusing all effort on 2nd Coil since half of the BiS gear set of 2.3 can be obtained through Hunts.

And it's not like they'll use it for nothing, it'll just be shortening the gear progression curve when the next batch of content come out. I mean it's not like 3rd Coil is coming, and 2nd Coil will be released on the DF. Collect the other half of the gear you need to be T10 ready to make the progression a bit smoother.

Besides, asking the "what will they use it for" question is a bit silly because as much as this current generation of gamers don't want to believe, this is an RPG and character building is a staple mechanic of the genre.

gotta be i110 so they can destroy the 2.4 story mode primal with ease but not do the "EX" version of the fight. lol

(the crap is not "HM" the thing is normal =.= wtf SE make a real HM and a real EX like the 3 original Primals)

also... you know... gotta be i110 cause when 2nd coil opens up to DF with echo with the possible skip/nerf on T5 they have to get my coil drops "easy".

Not to sound "elitist", but if youre not doing 2nd coil, i109 is overgeared for pretty much everything else in the game. i109 players are already making t7/8 timings go bleh so they get punished to hold back dps.

edit: though just read the reason is to just collect them all. so i guess thats fine, but "collecting them all" means you got it, dont need 2 in a way lol so my only response is to wait a bit till 2.4 when 2nd coil opens up so you can get your HA ring.

It's not a bad idea. I think maybe an alternative could be letting people buy a second ilvl 90 and ilvl 100 ring with allied seals exclusively that is the same stats but a different name, or at least similar stats. Of course that just would make people want hunts even more, we really need a second avenue of Allied Seal acquisition to spread people back out into dungeons and fates as well.

What are you doing that requires your ilevel to be 110 if you are not doing coil?

And just to clarify, I feel ya with the ring thing, mine doesn't drop until t9, but it like it better the way it is, since it gives me more motivation to keep raiding.

Why don't you explain what you've done to prove that you're not a bad player. You playing the victim is really annoying. The fact that you're even wasting the devs time by posting this bored my mind. Why should you complain when you aren't even doing all the current endgame content which if you were your problem would be solved. On the other side of things, you don't see people who do all content complaining about anything. Funny how that works right? Oh and this isn't a direct attack at you but more so the entire player base in general. Just suck it up and enjoy the game.

Personally, I think having the unique tag on rings is a bit dated. You're forced to either go with stats you don't want, or ditch the ilvl in favour of lower level rings. Even with the so called 'endgame' gear, this point still remains true. Rings are unique in that they're the only type of equipment you have two slots for. For that reason alone, the unique tag makes little sense here.

they're just lazy, they make one set of gear and they make every piece unique for simplicity. it also takes away the problem of someone Need rolling stuff for their Retainer.

Why do you think a full set of gear almost never yields you the accuracy needed for the highest level content?
