New Class: Minstrel (Radical Change to Bard Job)

Many of you that think Archer + Bard is alright but you are missing the point. The main point of being a Bard is to sing songs, yet nobody ever uses songs because it hinders their DPS, and most archers would prefer to DPS, so this idea would solve this because you can use songs as support because your damage shouldn't matter, and Archers would gain something like Ranger which would allow them to play there current role of DPS. I think those that truly wish to be Bards would benefit more if it was it own class & job.

uh, in every pt i was ever in xi, be it xp or endgame, there was almost always at least either a brd, cor, and/or rdm, an usually a combination of 2/3 of those. I had a cor, an my wife had a rdm an a brd, an we were constantly dragged along on everything even if we didnt want to go lol

u are agreeing with me, no1 wanted to play brd / cor , and was harder to get ppl to play those jobs in endgame content , and every party wanted support jobs because the dmg boosted by brd/cor was just awesome

i remember a poor guy playing bard in endgame he was our only bard ...his "endgame" bosses strat was > join party 1 , sing songs for melees / for mages > debuffs , left party 1 , joined party 2 singed for melees / ranged , get kicked > join party 1 ...

THF had it worse.....stay there > join party at 5% for TH

The point is that you can't just go and separate Bard from Archer because people leveled that class/job combination. You can't go to someone who leveled Archer in order to become a Bard and say "you are no longer a Bard, you are a Ranger now, if you want to be a Bard again, you have to level this new class."

Sadly though, magic finale will be kind of useless considering SE will definitely dictate what buffs can be removed.

Monks already have it with one ilm punch. And yeah, it doesn't work on anything.

On support, I don't think a more supportive support job is out of the question. It'd probably have to be 'kind of' dps like corsair. You can have half a dps, that brings up the other dps to make up for it(You'd probably need to make dungeons 5 or 6 mans though, but they should probably do that anyway. 4 was a mistake). You can't have half a healer or half a tank.

It'd definitely be a endeavor for a expansion and not a normal patch, but I think there's definitely room for them. Wow not doing them doesn't mean they can't be done.

Please no support job for this game, EVER... There is a reason why not many people play support jobs. It's boring, uneventful and generally just not fun. Not to mention, once certain support jobs is deemed MUST have, then good luck trying to get anything going on endgame. If you think duty finder is slow, once support class is introduced, it will be even worse. It's the same disease that's plaguing FFXI for over 10 years.... and they are still having a hard time balancing the game.
