Atmas are and have always been optional. Especially right now, where you can get the tomestone from ST and use 1300 soldiery to get an i100 weapon (which can then be upgraded to the i110 weapon in maybe a week's worth of hunting)

Anyone that thinks the game forces you to farm Atmas is dead wrong.

Also Bard played at maximum effectiveness shouldn't really be parsing anywhere near Monk played at maximum effectiveness.

Other players using parser has nothing to do with you nor it's your business unless they harasses you with it. It just sound to me you've been abused by it. OH, HE IS USING A PARSER, I'M GOING TO REPORT HIM. And don't even give me that bull crap about rules being there and we should ALWAYS abide to it. I guarantee you've broken rules that were established in game or real life. So much for speaking like a white knight.

I like that this game from Alpha to 2.3 has improved alot in the UI and general way things work, but without realizing it the game in my opinion has gone from a trial of difficultly to a complete grind to stay ahead of the rest.

For Example The First relic quest, had several steps but none of them alone or even together felt like a grind but a test of one's ability, but since that first step it has become a complete grind, from farming fates for days, even weeks for some for Atma's, to Farming 13500 Myth for books and then the Novas stage, which in my opinion is better than the Atma and Animus Stage but Still is quite the grind.

Dont get me wrong i am glad of the games improvements and i am happy i sticked with my relic, but out of 8 in my static only 3-4 of us have had the time to actually get to Novas stage, and only 1 has completed it so far, as for the hunts, it sickens me how i see players already with full i110 armor, and they say they havn't done coils, thats 18 books, 4500 allied seals, i've been doing daily/weekly hunts since it came in, and any hunt i see pop or when a player shouts its there, and i'm only at 273, it seems to me the hunt system is designed for people that have no life, use a external scanning app or something, i'm just glad no one in my fc static has fallen for this hunt system

Are you admitting you use parsers?
Obviously his or her friend parses, just like everyone else. No one parses, it's some other nameless person.

I agree with the OP about hunts and atma.

The atma gamble is detrimental to the player experience, and hunts are toxic to the game.

The devs keep adding crap like this in hopes of keeping players occupied for 2 to 6 months, so SE can keep their costs down, profits up, and allow the small dev team time to develop new content (i.e. the 3.0 expansion). Think about it, players will grind hunts till they get all the sands they need or want, then oils, then gear, then minions & furnishings. That will take a few months, even for those doing it everyday all day. Meanwhile, the dungeons are left bare to the leveling and animus crowd. Frontlines is for the few PVPers and people sick of hunts. All queue times have been doubled.

I actually did stop playing for a few months to see if they were going to fix some of the problems the OP mentioned. Came back for 2.3 and instead of seeing problems being fixed, I just see SE coasting along trying to keep the boat afloat by bailing out the water using new content buckets. Heck, they still have filtered water, blood, and sherry dropping in chests in end game dungeons that people are doing for the equipment and T6-T9 are still locked behind T5 completion, despite several other MMOs eschewing the idea of permanent lockout points and benefiting because of it. That is without even going into class mechanics.

The hunting seems to be the only somewhat good thing to come out of patch 2.3 in regards to progression: mostly because it lets people skip the lockout problem and just get the gear so they can be ready for when SE DOES fix the lockout problem.

Please explain this comment. Last time I checked the PS4 version was pretty much on par with the PC version.

Heck, the PS4 version actually beats out the PC version for some folks.

PS4 doesnt sustain 60 FPS all the time, while my PC can at max settings at a resolution of 2560x1080, thats not on par at all by definition of the word. Ps4 is equivalent to a mid end PC of similar value, thats the term you were looking for in that situation.

    1. Yes I agree atmas have hurt this game, I use to be able to get on..get some things done but now when I ask someone to do something, they're in hunts. Even as healer or tank for SOME things takes a while. This has made me want to quit the game..I know "if you don't like it why play?" I toggle that's why, some days I get on and am able to do things quickly..whether it's front lines / roulette / party finder or helping FC / LS members. Other days you get on nothing is happening in anything..and everyone is doing hunts..which to me are like atma farming. Some days I'm thinking "okay time to hang up this game." others I get into a lot of things as different jobs and have a great time..so..it toggles.

    2. Atmas are annoying but optional, the way you can obtain gear is through multiple paths..this is one that's solo for the most part and takes the longest time. I did it with my SMN..but as for my WHM and WAR? I'll take the alternate paths..get wave axe / weathered whm staff. It is optional, think of the time you spent grinding atmas..now place that time in Levi and(or) Ramuh, for the majority the time spent would of most likely gotten your weapon a lot sooner just requires an instance that is more difficult than level syncing to fates. It toggles, difficulty vs time.

    3. The new dungeons vs the previous expert, it seems they're trying to adjust these dungeons..the first set were long, and then you found out you could pull half the zone and if over geared just burn it down. Next set of experts, they seemed to shorten the dungeons and also put "blocks" on how far you could progress, skipping parts of the map that might not of been needed for people who were already well beyond that duty, though it added fun mechanics..I loved copperbell HM for the debuff you could put on the mobs if you tanked them right. Yet this still produced speed runs and lock outs because for the most part the trash mobs were squishy and didn't have any dangerous damage abilities, though when trying to release all 3 goblins at once I would see people have trouble if the gobo-jumps hit the right player at the right time..

Now the new dungeons, are a bit shorter, have more "blocks" that prevent you from skipping rooms and not pulling everything due to items needed. Some monsters have some very nasty abilities that if you pulled too many it could mean death. I know some people will say "Well I pulled the entire zone and we do fine" yes..you do..but others I've healed / dps or tanked in have trouble and some do fine, but majority wise these new dungeons have been adjusted to be shorter but with out the whole speed run. I would love it if they went back and applied what they did to these new dungeons to the previous ones..but I know they won't. Anyways, it's a progression so far with the dev team and these dungeons..just give it time.
