Halone is female. Goddess of war and moving glaciers. Her domain is ice. She is depicted wielding a sword and shield.

Now putting this with Lucke's post. In that both Halone and Shiva's domain are ice. As well as the fact that in one of the more recent trailers we saw Shiva weilding a sword an shield made of ice... I'm willing to bet that Shiva IS Halone. Which begs the question. Perhaps the Twelve and the Primals are just different names for the same beings? That one Ascian did convince those Ala Mighan kids to summon their own god Rhalgr.

    "Rhalgr, The Destoryer

Rhalgr, breaker of worlds and god of destruction, commands the element of lightning and is tied to the twelfth month. He is depicted as a magi carrying a bronzen staff, and his symbol is the streaking meteor."

Dunno bout you but that sounds kinda like Ramuh.

No, Ramuh's symbol is that of striking lightning. And Halone's weapon is a spear, not a sword.

Her icon thingy is 3 spears, but she uses a sword/shield.

No, Shiva is shown using a sword and shield, all we know of Halone is that she uses a shield and her symbol is three spears. Real world history, spears were used with shields unless they were thrown, phalanx formations and all that. Heck, Ishgard's greatest heroes were lancers and Dragoons and apparently their elite guard are all lancers.

But who summoned (or will summon) Shiva is one question I'm waiting to find out. Was it the Heretics or the Gigas? All the primals upto now have been summoned by beast tribes, which may lead us to believe that only Beastman can summon primals. Moogles aren't a beasttribe, yet where able to create King Mog. Even tho he isn't a primal, it shows that even non Beastman tribes can create an eatheric summoning.

So what's to stop Heretics being able to summon a primal? If they have the crystals, the desire and the necessary voodoo and stuff (sic), then I can't see why not. As the Moogles proved that desire can create something from the Aether.

We don't know if the Dragons are "evil", maybe it was the Ishgardians who decided, Hmmm nice land, I wants it! and started to systematically slaughter the dragon inhabitants and they were just defending themselves and fighting for their land. Or it could be the same in reverse.

Or neither, and it's been the Ascians all along pushing the conflict.

    Hopefully questions get answered.

@ OP: The enemy is alawys seen as "Evil". In my opinion I don't see the primals as evil or good, they just are. They were summoned to protect their people, a weapon, in a way, utilised by the beastmen in their fight against the people of Eorzea, who are as much, in some cases more to blame for the ongoing conflict between the peoples and the tribes. With the Beastman quests you find some want peace and others not so much. The same applies to the 3 city states also. There are some who want to destroy the beastman tribes, believing their will only be peace until they are gone, and others who want to work on a peaceful coexistance.

It's more a shade of grey than black and white, on both sides.
