Any way to befriend other charecter on same server/account?

Hey guys I was wondering if there is any way to befriend other character on same server on same account?

I'd like to send some stuff for other character but since you can only send to friends that makes it a puzzle.

In order to befriend the character need to be on-line but since you can only have one character pr account on-line that is a problem, but is there any way to go around that?

If you're trying to send to yourself the answer is no. You could however give it to a friend and go on your other account to get what you need. Just have your friend xfer when you log on.

There was a way once where if you disconnected during a dungeon, you could log in on the other character and if you added both characters to your FC or to a linkshell, you would find the character you disconnected still online and you'd be able to send them a friend request.

However, this hasnt worked in quite a while anymore :/

...or even easier, through your FC chest. But it really is silly you can't send mail to an alt.

I suppose if I want to get money for other char I can make him sell something for 100k and buy it as main char.

Can't you log on with each character on a separate system? I know you can't log onto the same character but it should work for different ones no? That's how it was done in FFXI :/

SE should deficiently make it possible to send email to anyone in game on line as off line like in FFXI, I don't see the problem why not?

Although I used to think it was to try and limit Real Money Traders sending their ill-gotten gil around, in hindsight however I don't think that's actually the case anymore, and that it was simply due to to technical reasons - in FFXI the Friend List was handled separately from the game's client, being a part of PlayOnline Viewer and thus, as it was account based, it could access Friend data irrespective of what character was logged in.

FFXIV however has the Friend List integrated into the game's client, and in fact, is character based rather than account based. Each character on the one account has it's own unique Friend List, thus why you can't befriend another character on the same account. It's an odd way of doing things, but POL was unpopular so it's no wonder SE developed the Friend List in FFXIV 1.0/ARR differently.
