I want a rework of the summoner, that enable summoning primals by sacrificing the summoner's life.

yes, let's make it so the summoned primal will come to life from inside the summoner body, till it explodes and the primal is free.

I cannot lie, Summoner Egi's left a somewhat underwhelming feel on when I first saw it. Cannot say I was not disappointed but I do not see any other way of viably doing it. What use would having a bigger Garuda do, jiggling her butt that much bigger on your screen? I don't think Melee's would enjoy hacking away at the boss whilst simultaneously stroking Ifrit’s nether regions and Titan... well I think his Egi suits him quite well... a ball of rock.

What I would like to see if a heavier contribution from Pets. They need a bigger impact on the class as it's called a Summoner, not a DoT based mage (Which incidentally I don't believe has been in the FF universe before. If I'm wrong, please throw me a bone as I'd be interested.)

You'd be wrong still. It's FFIV's Rydia's take on Summoner.

I agree kind of. While Rydia wasn't DoT focused, a lot of her damage did come from her use of Black Magic rather than her summons BUT she is still considered to be the face of Final Fantasy Summoners. Like I've already said, this game offers a newish take on SMN and aside from a few aesthetic issues with the egi, SMN is fine considering that summoning a full sized primal for LB is most likely coming soonish and that's going to be amazing.

I said most likely because they did say they were looking into changing LBs to be job specific and my idea is the only one that makes sense for SMN lol If they do anything other than that, then they're out of their minds.

Summon related LB (based on what egi you have out would be ok but a quest to gain access to something like Odin as your LB sounds cooler) is all I'm really looking for personally.

Maybe Ruin could be replaced with some sort of egi based command attack to make the pet feel more like a core part of the class.. but other than that it's an awesome class and I don't think it needs a "rework".

I would say yes.

As far as pet classes go, it's not a complete failure, but compared to Summoners in single player FFs as well as other pet classes it's in the back of the class.

At the very least, I think they should strongly boost the power of the Enkindle abilities to give it more of the "Summon Limit Break" feel. Would 500-600 Potency be too overpowered? I honestly don't feel like it would be, it has a 5 minute cooldown as it is so it's not like it can be abused that much.

From a gameplay standpoint as a DPS it's still good, there's nothing offensive about it, it just scratches the surface of what a summoning class could be. Did I mention it wasn't as good as the single player FF incarnations (or WoW's Warlock)?

Whatev's. Summoner LB will be a DoT, pets are an afterthought of that class. Can we at least change the job name to something suitable?
