It varies from server to server, but I wholeheartedly believe the general attitude for any DF party SHOULD be to allow your party members to do their job. If they're not doing "said" job, allow them to ask questions, without any repercussions. Allow everyone to vote Abandon Duty without playing the name-game.

Problem #1

When you ask "is anyone new or unsure about the mechanics?" at the start of the fight so that you could explain a little, 90% of those who are, doesn't say anything!
