This is really the only thing I don't like about the MB. I've had people /tell me saying that my prices are too high for certain items and chastising me for 'taking advantage of having the only item of its type on the MB'. I realize I can just blist the person, but it would be convenient if the crafter's name just wasn't visible until the purchase had been made. That way they can't troll someone pre-purchase to try and lower the price and flame them when they say no :\

It's mind-boggling how many people just don't understand this concept.

You could, but the fun with FF11 AH is whether other people caught you undercutting or no. Technically, you can set your item to be sell @ 1g as long as others didnt catch you. This is where the fun part is.

I was pretty good at catching these undercutters and relist it at higher price. I rip off their profits into my gain. For example, an item is sell for 2k on AH, these undercutters try to sell fast and list it as 500. I caught them and relist their items as 1,800. I gain 1,300 but they are taking the loss.

Well, as a buyer, I place starting bids lower than the lowest sale price & work my way up. Often enough, I'll get find a seller with a similar strategy as myself: they want to clear their inventory. In FFXI you want you stuff to sell on the first go, rather than keep paying the listing fee to put the same thing back on auction after the time limit.

If there are 10 non-stacking items available & the last price was 20,000, I'll start my bidding at 15k-18k. Almost always saves a few gil.

My word, somebody calling for reform because he was undercut by 200g. Don't start desynthesis or you'd end up hanging yourself... I regularly wake up to find I've been undercut by two hundred thousand gil...

OP, the market board system is perfectly reflecting supply and demand. The supply of item that you are selling is lower than market demand, then price will drop. This is really just economic 101. This reveal the true values of this item. I like FF11 AH and its fun but I strongly beleived that current market board system is jsut fine.

Also, there is really nothing to be mad about. When undercutters have undercutted the price to a certain amount, the type of people like me will strike them, bought all of their undercutted items and relisted them back to its original price. There are under cutters but there are also vultures that will keep resetting the market price.

Just buy the stacks at 800, and sell them for what you want to sell them for... = profit.

I hated ffxi AH only because if someone put it for just 1 gil less than yours, it will sell first.

At least with this one, if your in ul'dah and the other is in limsa, that 1gil, will actually end up costing you more if your not from that city state. (I hope that made sense if it doesn't you'll figure it out

Well I must agree with op. I prefer by far the ffxi AH type, they had a history of the sells, so even if you put an item for 800 gil, if the sell history said that last time was sold in 2k someone could pay more gil than what you asked for.

In my honest nooby opinion. It should be like in some games, where there are shops in the cities and you have to take your time checking if you want to buy something cheap, or just go to the next shop and buy. Yes, maybe a bit laggy for the citty? then implement a map called the Central Eorzea Market Square or something like that where all merchants of all Eorzea gather and sell their stuff...

I'm also tired that everything. EVERYTHING I collect is always damn useless because the next week it is already reduced by half already. Some days I'm wondering "Wait, there's something amiss here, not even one sell the last 5 hours. " I go check and someone undercut even just by one, enough to not sell... This wouldn't happen if it would be in shops people has to check, people won't be checking ALL THE SHOPS of the area just for saving one gil, but, hey... In market board they will because the first display is the cheaper one.

Please take my nooby idea seriously, even if I'm just a poor noob. And don't say something about "Too much space in server" / "It would be laggy".... Okay, Laggy?... Try a S rank Elite Mark, that's laggy.... Space in server?... Private Useless Chambers. This would be useful, and give more life to market, the feeling of having to check each shop or to put your own shop is way better than just going to this listing stuff.

(Ah, maybe I seem I'm mad with the market board system, well, yes, maybe, perhaps, a little, perhaps, kobold... But... Game stills awesome even if the market board system is stupid, so... Won't really care because that, regardless of it, would be awesome if they'd seriously improve the system, and like often, instead of just say "IMPROVE IT" like many people, I give the "HOW TO" added to it... So... Regards! :3 )

The good thing about this - you can see who's trying to destroy markets by 'massively undercutting for zero reason other than to destroy a market.
