Dev please change market board

I'm so tired of how market board works people being able to see your price listen every 1-5 minutes someone undercutting you driving price even lower. Example is Mahi Mahi place up 2k some ass sides to undercut by 1000 placing it to 800. So for weeks my stuff won't sell unless I go lower become the new price. So please Dev change it! I tired of undercutting of this level

.... you should be grateful you have a market board. They implemented a fairly decent one after enough QQ from the community. Would you prefer the old retainer system where there is no market board and very few people see your goods for sale?

If it's something that sells often, just wait for yours to sell at the price you put it up.

There are people that put up with undercutting price but don't actually release their retainer... This means the item is not purchasable, but can cause other sellers to undercut further.
The first undercutter then cancels their own sale, buys up the low priced stuff and puts up at a higher price...

That is the nature of a free market. My inventory space is more valuable to me than the few additional gil I might make by selling something at your price. Who decided on 2k anyway...? Market board prices are completely arbitrary.

Gosh, could you imagine a world where store A gets mad at store B for having a sale? & petitions the government to make laws that don't allow store B to sell products at whatever price they choose? LOL.

and if you undercut back, you are adding to the problem. People will end up buying your stuff eventually. There is a balance in "selling fast" to "making money"

I would rather have the ffxi auction system tbh, I also don't like having my name shown on everything I craft.

Oh you're right... I have read about Tesla's conflicts with the state of NJ. Good ol' fashion corruption.

But we in Eorzea are not comparable to car manufacturers or dealers. We're more ebayers & etsyers.

While there might be better systems, prices going up and down is really a matter of supply and demand. I see this very much with materia and crafting mats that drop in dungeons (and can be bought with GC seals). I see prices move around a lot, with an ebb and flow to supply and demand.

Say potash is running at 10k and some fool rushes in and posts one at 8k. If there is more demand than supply it doesn't matter. That 8k posting gets bought, then the 10k ones, then we're up to the going price of 12k. People notice this and crafters start slowing down their purchases and other players rush to their GC to convert those dungeon armour drops. Supply begins to outstrip demand and people worried about their product not moving start dropping prices. Eventually we're back to 8k and the cycle continues.
