    Around where I have live...and lived, school and colleges starts mid-late August. They should of released it mid July at the very latest.
    FFXIV tends to follow seasons in Japan. We just ended our "rainy season" here in the Tokyo area, so it's now officially summer... and this basically lasts through August, so we should be having a summer event in the coming weeks.

    I agree, it`s now summer in Tokyo so we will get the summer event soon.

    they not only follow seasons, they also follow japanese festivals. the moonfaire event is the FFXIV equivalent to the japanese tsukimi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsukimi
