Yo Yosh, Can you please disable the ability to teleport?

I do not miss waiting for boats in Everquest or any other MMO in the pre-wow era off mmo's. I also dont miss traveling across the world in 40 mins on foot or mount.

Even though I would prefer a lengthy travel time and a vast world to suit it, I think they took the right approach for this day and age. From what I've noticed more and more people want convenience, which is a good and bad thing. Personally I have my HP set in Limsa and my free destination is Gridania, which puts me at a reasonable distance to Coerthas/Mor Dhona and lets me access East Shroud much easier to farm my daily treasure maps, as well as gives me that opportunity to not use the teleport feature. Aside from that I will typically mount up and ride where I need to go but will teleport when I'm feeling either tired or lazy, in a hunting group or if my next destination is literally on the other side of the world.

Every time one of these topics is brought up, the first thing I do is scan for the FFXI reference and lo and behold it's front and center. No one wants an MMO that plays like FFXI in 2014, deal with it, go back to that game if you're so desperate for slipshod immersion at the cost of gameplay and flow.

I love that argument, go back to FFXI. FFXI is not the FFXI it used to be also, it's pretty dated now graphics and the systems. Though if they came out with a FFXI 2 I would love to go back to it if it kept to its roots.

There are no systems in place for you to traverse the world, because there is no reason for traversing the world. It's not about RP because I don't RP, I find Rping kind of strange. The thing is if they didn't have these conveniences you wouldn't even think about em and you would still like the game and play the game as you are today, except a little differently.

Good to know your such a outstanding contribution to society with your wife, kids, 12 jobs, hell I find it hard to see where you eke out time to log into the game with how much time you don't have. Am I doing this whole condesending person thing right?

Thing I find is that when people have nothing else to say to back up their claim, they get really defensive and attack the person personally. You have no idea, he could be a game designer himself. You don't know. So please cool down a bit, take a step back, and tell us why you think limiting teleportation is such a terrible thing when it literally takes 30mins15mins to choco from gridania to uldah.

Don't try to condescend and demand me to repost what I've already posted in previous pages when you ignored two of them so far. If you have to ask me to list the reasons why constantly spending fifteen minutes traveling to and from several areas is bad, you must limit how much you do in the game a lot. Because I personally travel all over constantly between gathering, Hunts, events, and other miscellaneous musings.

To be honest I'm a graphics designer but that's neither here nor there. I've always been interested in game design though and is partly why I do spend alot of time here and other forums. Not that me being a game designer would have any effect on what I'm saying it's just as valid wether I do it for a living or not.

I have 4,285 posts on this forum.
I get paid for working on videogames. This makes me a professional by definition. It's not big or important work mind you, but the point is, the effort required to post here is hardly taxing.
