Don't forget that 2.3 brought us a bevvy of new armor sets that are recolors shared among similar roles. Syrcus tower gives MNK and DRG their own sets but are basically the same model with slightly different stats. Casters and Healers got recolors of the same set. WAR and PLD share the same set (again).

I don't personally notice many clipping issues, but it's probably due to my choices of gear and hairstyle. I feel like they've done a pretty good job really. There's only so much you can do unless you use a good physics engine for everything that isn't essentially plastered to your body. Maybe they will do something like that with DX11 or sometime later. Using traditional animation methods it's simply not possible for robes and things that have a variable distance from the body to always look good, unless the range of motion is very restricted.

Anyway, even if 1.0 didn't had it or in the way I seem to remember, that is no reason for ARR for not improve over it and add it making the overall aesthetics of the game better.

Was no issue in XI and 1.x - Like I said, lots of people voted on 'faster updates', which people felt were in regards to the 1.0 - 1.23 path rather than ARR specifically. 1.x had a proper deformer, they just went the most simplistic route as they did with everythig else in ARR.

There used to be an old adage that went along the lines of, "If you're going to do something do it right."

I'm fairly certain this game is S-E's current highest revenue generator so to give us an excuse based on lack of manpower really leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Recruit additional staff and deliver a polished product instead of giving us lines I expect to hear from MMOs in their twilight years with one remaining dev who is also in charge of fixing the photocopier, unblocking the toilet, and filling the coffee machine. Hopefully not in that order either!

And it's been over a year since that vote. I think it's time for SE to reconsider what the community wants now.

To be fair a lot of people wanted to be able to dye those sets. I'm sure some people also didn't appreciate running [insert dungeon here] 30 times just to obtain [insert set name here] pieces. They could have added them all as level 1 items (see: colosseum gear), but I think they opted to kill two birds with one stone and I don't really begrudge them for that.

Fundamentally, we are prioritizing the introduction of equipment in a large variety of designs, regardless of whether or not they may have clipping issues or overlap with certain equipment or characters. Due to this, we will not be making any adjustments to the dresses. However, in extreme cases there may be instances where we will make changes.

Btw, I am rocking the Crescent Moon Nightgown as my tank body, and nothing compares to how dapper it makes me look.
I would much more prefer to have less gear, but gear that look awesome. Instead of having a load of gear that makes no sence like we have now ..

    Greetings,

This is similar to what we asked for and replied to your response in the past, but I would like to reiterate it for the devs who think we still want quantity over quality.

Fundamentally, we are asking for better optimization of gear instead of the introduction of equipment that clashes with out character models, they have obvious clipping issues that overlap with most character models. Due to this, you should be making adjustments to the dresses, robes, skirts, collars etc. This is fast approaching an extreme case with multiple sets of gear repeating the same problems as the last, every patch adding more problematic clipping issues.

Btw, I am looking less than stellar in outfits that my feet keep ripping through. Many of us are and I wish I looked dapper as heck in MY crescent night gown, but I'm wearing holes into it at an astounding rate. I'm glad you think your feet jabbing through it 'looks dapper'.
