Ninja seem to be a debuff DPS ?

I don't really mind, they can work with either STR or DEX, but what I want to focus is about the part whether it seem to be a debuff + DPS or just a pure DPS.

In any MMO, you can only become the best at one thing. Any hybrid class will never become the top of line DPS. So if Ninja can deal both spell damage and physical damage, then he is going to be bad at both. If he focus on just one type of damage, then he may get chance to be the top. And in this sense, I think that if it is confirm that Ninjutsu will debuff enemy, then I can totally see that it will be the class opposite to bard with debuff instead of buff. Overall dps will be weaker than pure DPS class such as Monk for sure.

It honestly doesn't have to be so black and white, when they originally introduced ninja they said that the mudras (hand signs) would have many different effects based on the combination used. Some mudras would have beneficial effects, debuffs, or even used as spells.

Even in the original video (however not 100% sure it's related but seems to be so) that when casting mudras the ninja then used an ice spell. For all we know they could have like 2 debuffs a self buff and several spells as mudras but we don't know how many they have but it was even said. That some combinations of mudras will have a negative effect not every combo does something. Also wanted to say if he does do spells it will scale off his main stat not some hybrid style, the game has shown us that with long range attacks on melee classes.
