I think of course they have their place.

Dungeons are the best way to learn the class while you level, and you also obtain useful loot. When you are already level 50, there is also some progression for practice and learning and you obtain the tomes. And if the level cap is made higher, as they say, dungeons will probably be a great place to level (new dungeons will come, or/and the existent ones may be modified.)

EX Primals and Raids offer the highest difficulty, the difficult ones need usually a static group, group learning and progression that dungeons don't.

Maybe hunts are the quickest way to obtain tomes, gear, etc. now, but having other choices doesn't hurt. The more options, the better.
