A minion or hat or chocobo barding would be cute!
(It's my birthday on Saturday sooooo... hop to it SE, get your skates on! If a GM has to deliver my gift in person that's absolutely fine)![]()

And FFXIV does this sort of thing with their veteran reward. The best part is, I can make a character today and still get all of the gifts I earned from the beginning.
I actually thought a "birthday gift" system was already implemented in the game simply because they ask you to pick one when you make your character.
What's the point in asking people to pick a birthday if you're not gonna do anything with that data?

Worst case it'll end up being like when people picked Grand Companies and thought it meant nothing but it does. Same with picking your god or goddess.
Lore friendly and gives Role-playing people an extra way to role-play?
Either that or they have something planned for it in the future, but I would expect if they did, it'd be more likely attached to the diety you chose.

Happy Birthday notification will be pretty much enough , but i fine w/o

I think it could be good as long as the stuff you get a trivial like a paper birthday crown or a cake that you can light up and eat thats gives you something like a 2% xp bonus like a lot of quest reward food does in this game.

I too wish there was some clue about why we chose a name day and deity for our characters.
I know in 1.xx I got a ring for my deity but we had no forewarning of that and no way to choose again (despite it being a LONG time since we made our characters and a lot that we knew about them/ourselves may have changed since then) so that was kind of a double edged sword when the ring no longer seemed suitable.
I wish we could at least change our deity by going to the symbol and praying there a few times over a few days to re-devote ourselves, even if we can never change our day.
Either way, I wish both pieces of information were relevant after creation (other than that one ring that many players will never get).
