Then maybe you need to just start passing everything and do runs with a group so that you don't need to ask who needs what for loot drops. I just greed most things and if anyone needs an item, they'll roll need. I really do not understand this fascination of wanting items to "not go to waste". It's a waste if it's an item no one can use or wants. Ask Square to make better loot drops so nothing "goes to waste" if that is how you feel. Honestly, this whole thread just sounds like people with massive OCD that can't stand to see something being tossed away. The whole idea just sounds like 60 second extension to the default loot timer.
