Where does it say that? I thought they said very simply that there would be one job per class, and not jobs per several classes (as of yet.)
Yes. One class unlocks one job. BUT: It has been mentioned that they are looking into expanding on that system by unlocking another job by leveling 2 classes to 50. Yoshi specifically used WHM + BLM = RDM as his example.

Wait, where did it ever say that ranking up a class to 50 unlocks a job? o.o
That sounds... odd. Do you have that source as well Jennestia?
I did find the Bayonhe post by the way: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...734#post186734
He does say that jobs aren't unlocked at 50. But that also doesn't contradict my earlier point. One Class per job. Multiple jobs per 'advanced' job.
It may be one class unlock one job or multiple classes unlock one job. At current development stage, what can be confirmed now is, jobs are built upon classes. Frankly speaking, it's actually the same concept with the classes system we have now. Only things different are, instead of let players decide what roles/jobs they can be from combining actions across different classes by themselves, SE now gives job titles out with specific requirements of classes ranks and add some corresponding gears/actions to those jobs.

時期については明言できないが、特定の二つのクラスを一定ランクまであげると取得できる、複合ジョブも用意する。たとえば、幻術士と呪術士を両方育てると赤魔導士といった展開もあり得る。
Although the time is unknown, they are planning to have "combined job" which is obtained by two specified class over specified rank. For example, CON + THM = Red Mage.
将来的にジョブだけなく、"クラス"自体も増やす予定でいる。
In the future, not only jobs but also classes will be expanded.

That's fine, but as I read it jobs will also limit what abilities you can use in attempt for a more class-specific role. It's like putting a filter on. For example: say Conjurer gets Black Mage. You won't necessarily be able to use the spells you mentioned in your previous post on conjurer, because they want to limit that sort of thing. Right now, you can do the mixing and matching, and I would think there will still be a bit of that with a job, but they made it sound like jobs are ways to stream-line the classes even further after already altering abilities and such on each class, which they are doing now.http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...azine-Aug.2011

Right now they have made it seem you will be ranking up a single class for a single job and not necessarily to 50. Also if they have jobs that require levels in several classes, that filter is still going to not let you put on all those abilities for your 'ideal' build because it's suppose to stream line what you're playing. In the end it will just depend on what sort of role you want to be cast into that determines what classes you rank up. You won't have to do all of them unless you want the flexibility of switching between jobs.
