I mean..heaven forbid that poor botanist decides to walk too close to a rampaging chimera or something.

To play devil's advocate, that poor botanist can't choose which tree he chops down. He has one of 4 nodes to choose from. If the game drops it right inside a chimera, there's not a lot he can do, is there?
