Teaser of the next FFXIV Race[Spoilers]

I created a race suggestion thread a while back, that was one of the suggestions.
Then some uber fans came in and said "UHHH YOSHIDA ALREADY SAID NO MORE CROSS BREEDS! NO MORE ANIMALS!"

They also said some crap how Cyborgs would mess up the lore.

"LORE" because "Fantasy"

I would of liked to see these types of races but it's wishful thinking.

i know it's late and we've all seen the expansion now (haven't finished it myself yet), mostly, but did everyone notice her tail? very lizard-esque

Since Yugiri has a scaled tail I am thinking she is a dragon/human hybrid type of race and those are horns on her head.

FFXIV has too many pure human type races so it would be nice to have a more non human looking one.

Which would make sense of her wanting to keep her features covered with the Ishgardian war with Dragons. A Draconion humanoid race appearing could be met with fear due to said reasons. Believing they are allied with the Dragons. Whereas keeping that hidden will allow her to show that she and her race isn't through actions prior to the unveiling.

Not going through all 22 pages to see if it's been said but Yugiri's tail is not a bunny tail.

Definitely rat or lizard in nature.

Just because something is fantasy or speculative fiction, doesn't give a free pass to be internally inconsistent. Magic isn't real, but it operates under an internally consistent set of rules in this game. When you're world building and writing you have too keep things consistent, which is what the devs try to do. Internal consistency/cohesiveness is what separates the bad stories form the good. So yes, the devs need to respect the established lore because it's part of good writing and a vital part of the genre.

Adding cyborgs to FFXIV is like if Tolkien decided that throwing in steampunk androids halfway into The Two Towers would make the story cooler, or if they added fairies to Star Trek. You don't do that when writing fiction, it violates the established internal rules of the universe that the writer crafted.

At first I though Yugiri was a Viera because of her ears but after seeing her tail I discarded that possibility, she's most likely a lizard type wich I hope they don't screw up since most of the female lizard type races I see in MMO's look horrible.

I just hope they add two new races in the expansion since it will be really dissapointing to be wating so long for Viera and just getting this lizard thing race only.

I'm pretty sure the Borg were actually faeries and that's how they were able to use The Force.
