I feel your pain, and I don't. Yes, it kind of stinks if you specifically leveled that high for it, no, I'm not willing to sacrifice convenience just for the sake of effort and ego someone may have already put it. It's the nature of MMOs. You join later, you have it easier. I first played WoW right around Cata, and I got better items than my girlfriend by doing generic quests, who by that point had played for years and put blood, sweat and tears into getting her epics.
Same on Phantasy Star Universe. I started at the beginning, and had to grind my way to the top. A year or so into it, new players were joining during events and flying up the ranks and four times the EXP I had been getting. Similarly, new players to XIV are going to have it easier - whether it's lower Raise spells, Market Ward searchs, better items that are easier to get, or no Fatigue System hindering them. It's just the nature of the beast.
Anyway, I dig the Dragonmaster Dyne thing, though. I play most MMOs as "Dyne" and everyone always asks, "Hey, Dragonmaster Dyne from Lunar, right?!" ...which in my case is inaccurate, I took the name from Dyne in Skies of Arcadia, but still! Either way, gotta rep the old school, and Lunar and Skies both are good stuff!

Nor apparently simple enough that you are capable of putting them into words. Seriously, act like an adult, you'll convince more people than flailing and insulting others because you cannot make an adequate (or any) argument to support your position.
Again, none of this has squat to do with Raise at 14 making the game easier. NONE. It is a complaint, valid or not, about the game's system. For god sakes, throw us into the fire. Make us climb a really high mountain. It is the difficulty and challenge and struggles that forces people to bond. "If I can do it all on my own, I don't really need anybody else." That is the attitude in the game because it's too easy. That is why nobody talks or seek outside help. The developers do not respect us enough thinking we can only do baby steps.
Like much of everyone else said I don't see it making the game harder or easier. The point is to not die and hold up the team waiting for a rez or returning to aetherite anyways right?
And really how often do you die with a team that knows what they are doing anyways? like never it seems, sure dungeons may change that a bit =D
Really I just don't see this change being worthy flaming each other on the boards for...
If you worried about your hard work put in to get raise well your outa luck, the games basics are being redeveloped and you can roll with the changes or wait til finished product launches again and see if you like it. Not to be cliche' but its not FFXI-2 and it probably will never be.
Raise at 14 is like everyone is wearing a helmet, and very thick padding, riding a bike made out of foam with air bags, in a room that is completely padded all thru out. There is no danger of getting hurt.
Actually no its not.
Its more like riding a bike with no protection and having an accident in front of two different ambulances. Then getting instant assistance in your emergency situation.
You still got hurt, you just had a better time of getting better.
Again nothing to do with difficulty.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
There wasn't before this either. You just hit that magic "Return" button. It's the same thing, only you don't have to run from an Aetherite. The thing is, Raise is in itself, not as major a spell as it was in FFXI. You don't lose xp now on death, so there is no bonus to use it other than not wanting to wait for someone to run back to you. Hell, if people are close enough to a gate, they may chose to save the mage mp and just Return because it's cheaper and faster. That is how worthless Raise is. What level you gain Raise, won't change that.
I used to think posts like "people will complain about anything" were hyperbole.
Now i know their not.
Thanks for clearing that up for me OP.
Edit: Post 100 and not one of them useful!
