Somehow Mcshiggs got severely more upset than the OP. The main story runs are hard for first timers to keep up because everyone else knows exactly where to go and their cut scenes are automatically skipped, which is faster than skipping the cut scene at the first chance manually. Because of that you'll fall behind a few seconds at least every time a cut scene pops. On top of that you have to be following anyway since you don't know where to go so you can never catch back up unless they wait a few seconds for you. As long as nobody's purposely leaving you behind and then complaining about it I guess it's no big deal really. After the 10th or so time you complete Praetorium you'll forget all about not being able to participate the first time.

When 2.0 came out, my first Praetorium was awesome. No one knew wtf to do we just went around killing stuff. Man that was the tits! Everyone was cheering when we beat Ultima...then it was like...wtf!! Another one! We cheered when we beat that Ultima, then were like, OMG A FINAL BOSS!! But in pure Final Fantasy fashion, the last boss was cake.

Alright, I see you are indeed a troll so this is my last response. Having just turned level 50, I have never participated in a speed run. Did I join DF knowing it would be a speed run? NOPE! I do however know that there is controversy over watching cut scenes which is why I skip them and watch them on my own time. Now this is where you seem to get confused: When a group is speed running, they all have their cut scenes turned off. I did not, as I had never watched them before so the "Skip cut scene if seen before" option does not apply.

So start dungeon, wait for cut scene to load, skip cut scene, wait for dungeon to load because it is 8 players it takes even longer to load, plus I am on the PS3, so that means an even longer time. I could never see where they went. How was I to follow? My only choice was to explore. So I am going A-B-C-D and they are going A-D, making it impossible for me to catch up. Not to mention I keep dying because I am exploring and running from mobs.

Am I asking people to cater to me? Nope! Am I trying to make people aware of this issue so they can take note of stragglers and maybe give them a chance to catch up? I sure am! The more people that know the dungeon (and how to fight the bosses), the more it helps out the community as a whole. Simple as that.

Ok whatever, not the friendliest bunch no big deal.

Then I got a few buffs, added some fists of fire...but...wtf. Everyone was gone!
This is why it makes me think you just weren't paying attention, at first you say you were able to say hello, and that it was your first time after everything started, they even got you buffed. Now you are saying as you load in everyone was gone. The cutscenes skipping at the start makes no difference, because the gate doesn't go down until everyone has either skipped or watched the opening cutscene. Your story is changing, leading me to believe anymore you just weren't paying attention to everyone when they ran off. Also if you didn't think duty finder would be a speed run, why did you sit in party finder for two hours before you finally decided to go with the duty finder? Just doesn't make sense.

its not the speed runners no one wants to wait for you to watch because they done that dungeon a 1000 times and just want to finish for there roulette. you can either deal with that or have no one to help you.

Yes, because there's no cutscene before first boss. And after first boss. And getting into magitek armour. And blasting open a door. And before the second boss. After second boss. Activating an elevator. After third boss. Opening a door. After fourth boss. Killing fourth boss. Killing fifth boss.

Right, because ONLY the first cutscene matters.

Oh right, lets also forget the elevator trips. Surely they can just jump down, right? They obviously don't need to wait for people to go down, press a switch, wait for elevator to come back up, press switch, elevator go down! Surely it's their own fault they can't keep up!

The OP said they were left behind right at the beginning, so yes, that first cutscene was all that matters, they weren't paying attention, everyone ran off, they got left behind.

Yeah, the OP is clearly making up this elaborate lie of being left behind, regardless of the fact that it happens like..to many other people daily.

PS. If you are a fresh level 50, you don't know what a speedrun is, hence you don't know how to expect it.

Because you SHOULD expect everyone to just run off as soon as the barrier comes down without explaining a little bit or even greeting in your very first run of a dungeon. Even with a bigass sentence in the middle of your screen announcing that it is someone's first time there.

I've been in plenty of groups where we got the message that it was someone's first time, no one said anything, and the new person was able to keep up, I guess those advanced skills of following people is a rare skill that not everyone has. I feel sorry for these people now that I think about it, if a new restaurant opens in town, you go, the waitress goes to seat you, and suddenly you are lost, the waitress didn't tell you the location of your booth, you have no choice but to go home and post a negative review about the poor service, that waitress didn't give you step by step instructions to your booth, they expected you to actually follow them, how dare they not have a map, they should have known it was your first time.
