The OP said they were left behind right at the beginning, so yes, that first cutscene was all that matters, they weren't paying attention, everyone ran off, they got left behind.Yes, because there's no cutscene before first boss. And after first boss. And getting into magitek armour. And blasting open a door. And before the second boss. After second boss. Activating an elevator. After third boss. Opening a door. After fourth boss. Killing fourth boss. Killing fifth boss.
Right, because ONLY the first cutscene matters.

Because you SHOULD expect everyone to just run off as soon as the barrier comes down without explaining a little bit or even greeting in your very first run of a dungeon. Even with a bigass sentence in the middle of your screen announcing that it is someone's first time there.

I've been in plenty of groups where we got the message that it was someone's first time, no one said anything, and the new person was able to keep up, I guess those advanced skills of following people is a rare skill that not everyone has. I feel sorry for these people now that I think about it, if a new restaurant opens in town, you go, the waitress goes to seat you, and suddenly you are lost, the waitress didn't tell you the location of your booth, you have no choice but to go home and post a negative review about the poor service, that waitress didn't give you step by step instructions to your booth, they expected you to actually follow them, how dare they not have a map, they should have known it was your first time.Because you SHOULD expect everyone to just run off as soon as the barrier comes down without explaining a little bit or even greeting in your very first run of a dungeon. Even with a bigass sentence in the middle of your screen announcing that it is someone's first time there.
