And this is the problem with present-day raiding. It's about being a special snowflake, not overcoming the challenges the game provides. Not "will". "already has". Know plenty of people who lost motivation to raid soon as they announced they were once again throwing raid gear into solo content. No reason to spend hours progressing to get alt loot because you already got raid loot from doing hunts for a week.
I still don't see how it's being "simply handed to people". It would take a VERY long time to farm enough seals to fully upgrade to il110. It certainly takes effort. Perhaps a different kind of effort than raiding Coil but effort none the less. Not everyone has a Coil static or even has interest in it at all. I'll take open world content over instanced any day. Nothing worse than being in an instance and needing to go AFK or have something more serious pops up and you screw it up for the whole team. There's nothing wrong with alternatives.
Well… that's because it IS, sadly. When the whole 'zOMGZ ASCIANZ" ordeal came about, the game decided to focus more on that/them than the whole, oh I don't know, giant dragon god could wipe out everything in one blow. 2.3 further solidified that fact. Which is pretty sad, because I have a feeling we'll never get to actually face Bahamut, rather, we'll have to face an Omega Weapon-absorbed Bahamut.
As to who is going to raid, most likely the people who haven't cleared or even done SCoB by the time TCoB comes out. Considering SCoB has the pre-req that BCoB be cleared in order to even START that quest line. Personally, I know I'm going to raid SCoB seeing as I just got through T5 two days ago. Loot rewards or not, I'm interested in the storyline and I'd like to "experience" it myself rather than sit through 30 minutes of mrhappy going on and on about everything that has nothing to do with the game itself. But the HA Pants of Fending are just too smexy to pass up. +41 acc? kthx
The "handouts" are the results of people in LSs where several members have radar apps and stymie the efforts of others to get in on said action.I still don't see how it's being "simply handed to people". Now that I think about it, this whole point or argument is beginning to sound a lot like the atma arguments. Some people take months to get one thing, where some can get it in an hour or so.
Your kidding yourself if you think this was ever the case.
1999 we raided X and Y events until when? We had the loot. Then you didn't do the events again for YEARS. Now? Sure we go run Plane of Time randomly for fun but thats YEARS later. No one raided current or last tier content and destroyed all the loot.
People still have to actually beat the fights if they want to progress that particular story.
I hope they don't add anything new to Hunts until 2.5 is nearly over so that there's still some merit in tackling the harder content.
Wow dude really, I have been following the thread. None of the arguments have proven the following incorrect
OP has a static coil group of 8 people or more clearing T6+
Other people get 110 gear
OP has a static coil group of 8 people or more clearing T6+
Way to contribute nothing.
I highly doubt anyone's static has said, you know I think im just going to do hunts instead of raiding with you guys. Peace out.
This thread is really about 1 thing. People who are in the top tier of raiding want to be recognized as special. And thats really great and all. But who cares?

You used the "f" word. You're not allowed to use that when talking about this game. You have to avoid any challenge at all, and go for the easiest route like everyone else.Weapons. Weapons everywhere.
Also, you'll be missing out on some major storyline. Sure, you can watch it from someone else's perspective, but what fun is that?
Plus, the battles are lots of fun. They're really a good test of playability with your job. Fun stuffs.
Serious note, though, there is a problem with the easiest path to the best gear really is the easiest path. SE should have left Sands out of the Hunts, at least until 2.4. Oils aren't too bad, because it's only for the accessories and they aren't as much of a boost as the main slots are. It's far too early to start raising the "average" item level.
Actually here's why nobody bothered with your little quote. It is irrelevant to the discussion at hand.Wow dude really, I have been following the thread. None of the arguments have proven the following incorrect

If you also had bothered to actually follow the thread, instead of just saying you did, you would know that your little statement about what this thread is about is untrue:

But why actually bother when you can just go ahead and spread your preconceived idea of what this thread was about without anything to back you up.
Way to contribute to nothing for you indeed!

But I do agree with you. The path to alternative i110 is TOO easy.
