Subjective opinion.You played FF2? but not FF12?
From what I've seen, you have only played the worst FF games. (unless you actually meant FF12 instead of FF2)
Either way, any true fan needs to play FF1, FF3, FF4, FF5, FF6, FF9, FF:Tactics-War of the Lions, FF11, and FF12-Intl Zodiac.
I hear Type-0 is fantastic as well, though I haven't played it yet.
I've found Final Fantasy 12 to be god horrid. This is also my subjective opinion and I also don't think I'm less of a fan than people who enjoyed it.
I think it would be cool to have some way of using MP.. Like a 10-15 sec buff or something that drains MP for increased attack power, or something like that.I'll start it off with lancer/dragoon.
Dragoon's skills I'd like would be:
Skills would be:
-Increase potency of next skill by such and such % (Possible cross class ability)
-Throw Lance ability. 1 minute CD with decent strength and a pushback effect on a specific target. On global cooldown so people don't try to work it into a rotation.
Oh, i agree. but they were seriously divergent from what made the original series great. I stand by my comment. The entire XIII brand is atrocious.
True fans import games they can't play normally - Learn the language or apply english patches and play.
Your move.
Seriously though, not everyone plays all games in a series but some series definitely has a core style you'd need to play to truly appreciate - It's no secret the 'Amano Era" of FF games is deemed as the true games of the FF series, then 7, despite being a broken unfinished mess is deemed one of the best since it was QUITE A LOT of people's first FF game..or even RPG.
I'm actually of the opinion that they sort of did the same thing by including FFXI and FFXIV as main numbered parts of the series. Switching to a different genre really warrants considering them an offshoot series. I think Final Fantasy XI should have been Final Fantasy Online, and Final Fantasy XIV should have been Final Fantasy Online II. That would still bring in the FF name for the name recognition, and be enough to justify including thematic elements like chocobos, but without diluting the main numbered FF series by splitting it between multiple game genres.Only the main (numbered series)... and most would add the first 'Tactics' game to the mix.
Just because something is called "Final Fantasy" doesn't mean a Fan of the series has to play it. SE over the years has tried to capitalize on the FF brand by attaching the name to a lot of lesser products. (eg. FF'The Spirits Within', FF:Mystic Quest, FF:All the Bravest, FF:Adventure, FF:Potion Drinks, etc. etc.)

Furthermore, I think FFX & FFXIII should have been part of a FF spin-off 'Cinematic Action' series. Both those games are extremely linear, have no open-world to explore, and depend heavily on cutscenes to progress the story. They are a marked departure from the rest of the series.
