From what I've seen, you have only played the worst FF games. (unless you actually meant FF12 instead of FF2)

Either way, any true fan needs to play FF1, FF3, FF4, FF5, FF6, FF9, FF:Tactics-War of the Lions, FF11, and FF12-Intl Zodiac.

I hear Type-0 is fantastic as well, though I haven't played it yet.

Did Play 4. But knowing the ones that came out and playing up from 1-6 yeah would make me die hard. Still cant since Financial reasons. LOL> So im unlucky either way.

lol, just my opinion though but it looks like he played all the worst FF games to boot. Except for 7.

Regardless he does have a valid request to see more skills/spells. They are coming, that is the nature of the MMO. We still need Red Mage, Dark Knight, Samurai, Corsair, Blue Mage, Time Mage, and many many more. The beauty thing about this game in particular is they are drawing from all the other Final Fantasy games for content. Everything from the Hunts (FFXII) to the Golden Saucer (FFVII) to Character infusions like Shantoto (FFXI) and the Golem (DQ). That last one also opens up even more doors to the Squaresoft/Enix universe. I'm hoping to see more cross game easter eggs. I would love to see Chrono or Frog from Chrono Trigger make an appearance.

TL;DR
With so much source material to draw ideas from, the problem isn't "are they going to add more stuff?" it should be "what stuff should/would/could we add next?"

And yet the XIII games were the closest to the original FF games as any of the newer ones - Only missing Crystals and the illusion of choice (overworld.)

Strangely enough, I found X-2 to be far more enjoyable than X.

Same with XIII-2...

It seems like once Motomu Toriyama gets his 'movie experience' vision realized in a new FF title, he can then make a more open and enjoyable RPG experience in the sequel.


Sadly, SE has lost some of the greatest talent that this industry has seen. Perhaps Yasumi Matsuno, Akihiko Yoshida and Izumi Mazuta will team up with and develop their own RPG franchise someday.

It seems most people here are pretty foolish. A true fan plays *all* of the Final Fantasies. Given that a fair amount of them are Japan only and cellphone games, I'd wager not a single person in this thread is a true fan.

Only the main (numbered series)... and most would add the first 'Tactics' game to the mix.

Just because something is called "Final Fantasy" doesn't mean a Fan of the series has to play it. SE over the years has tried to capitalize on the FF brand by attaching the name to a lot of lesser products. (eg. FF'The Spirits Within', FF:Mystic Quest, FF:All the Bravest, FF:Adventure, FF:Potion Drinks, etc. etc.)
