    Not sure how many level 50's there are on a given server, but let's estimate 2000. Every week, those 2000 people are pointed at a single B-rank mob via the Weekly Hunt. Let's say that these 2000 people cooperate, and divide into 500 parties of four, the "appropriate" size intended for fighting a B-rank. Over the course of seven days, Naul can pop once an hour for a total of 168 pops. That means that 332 parties get left in the cold, roughly two-thirds of the server.

    Yeah, someone at SE isn't terribly good at math. Weekly hunts are a joke, and something needs to be done.

    The boss should get a buff that increases its hp or decreases damage dealt depending on people trying to down it. Or just increase the difficulty depending on the speed of previous kill. Because obviously the hunts are popular. And in most of the cases you don't even see the mob or in case of B and A levels you maybe manage to land one blow before it is zerged. because each mob has at least 100 ppl on it by default...

    As it is the system is ridiculous and nearly impossible for people who just want to enjoy the game and not be part of zombie zerg crowd....

    Dynamic system should be the answer to this. Don't even need to change mob skills - just scale the HP dynamically and accordingly.

    Fun fact: you can look up player data here (it all uses Lodestone data, which is freely available). On Adamantoise, there's ~4.5-5k representatives of each level 50 job; keeping mind there is of course some overlap from characters that have maxed multiple jobs.

    Which... is actually far more horrifying numbers about the Weekly Hunt availability even when you start factoring in things like players not currently playing/players who aren't participating in Hunts/etc.

    A dynamic system works with fates because the scaling will reset should it fail, but elite marks have no timer, one moment you can have half a server show up for a B or A, the next spawn it could be just a small party, a small party that now can't kill the elite because too many people did it the last time and the elite HP will never reset without a respawn.

    They should just remove the contribution bonus from being in a party. Make it so everyone gets the same contribution numbers as solo players, then adjust the contribution requirements to match. Bam, biggest problem (getting terrible rewards because you found the mark, but weren't in a party) solved.

    As has been stated multiple times - casual friendly content. Most casuals group with spouses, or in small groups at most. Many just solo. Forcing them to group continues to deny them the content when they're up against map-hacking no-lifers who run in organized packs.

    Not fit for purpose. Alter or remove.

    So, you're wandering around solo, find a B mark, shout about it because you can't solo it, and a party runs up, doesn't say anything to you, and kills it in a few seconds. You get 2 seals at best even though you were tanking it from the beginning. That was your fault for not joining their party where they never offered to let you join?

    When it says that a Light Party(4 people) is recommended for a B Rank mark, it means that you really should be in at least a 4 man party to hunt it. Likewise for A ranks and 8 people. With this change, running hunts solo is no longer nearly as feasible, which is sad. I liked being able to spot a lonely B Rank Mark while doing whatever and take it down. Made the world feel a bit more alive to see these slightly tougher monsters roaming around.

    As for word on the patch itself, it's called a "band aid" for a reason. When people are angry at you, yelling at you, and lighting the torches and pitchforks right now, you've gotta do something quick. You don't have time to do anything substantial. This is exactly what this patch is. Square Enix bowed away from their intended idea of the number of people who should do hunts and scaled them higher. Now, people are slightly less angry about things. Now, they can either decide that they can deal with this new level of animosity or take this time of lesser anger and use it to develop a more substantial solution.

    how to solve this problem:
    1. turn shout text off
    2. if in a party notify the party and no other, if solo skip to step 3
    3. kill the NM.
