While I would say the solution is to make a party if that's the case I feel I'm about to be schooled at why that's not good.
Just like with FATE's, being in a party boosts your contribution by a lot.
If you're soloing and you have a number of parties that also fight, the chance of you doing enough to get max credit is much less than if everyone is soloing.
Maybe instead of just adding HP, they could have added a stacking buff that increases damage resistance as more people pile on. Seems like it'd be an easier way of extending the life of a hunt and it could work for any of the hunt types, be they B ranks or S ranks. Of course, the thresholds would need to be different, you're need more people on an S-Rank to pop that buff than on a B-rank. Maybe make it call 'Enraged' with a 5-10% damage resistance per stack.... buff description could be like, 'The mark has become enraged at being hunted and has become numb to pain.'

Getting in a Party may not work too. Think about it, always more then 8 ppl shows up. Even if you are in a PT, it does not mean your PT get enough dmg in, in the first place.
Always the first party that gets their hits in will get the most seals. The mob HP just ain't high enough.
A force pop, like Map, is the best idea for everyone.

Yes, but my point is.. if other people are in a pt. You seriously cannot expect to get max contribution, especially on a B rank.
You need a party to compete against others for the maximum reward. You aren't wrong, but if someone decides to shout out for a B rank. Don't be shocked if a PT rolls up, and takes it way before you get anything.
From pointless, to entirely pointless.
Just move it to the map/leve system and be done with it.
On Jenova Fix seemed to work so many more people are at A's now just because they take longer to kill. Jenova is a smaller server though
Yeah, unfortunately B-ranks were not intended to be multi-party zergfests, and they're still not. I don't know if they ever will be.Yes, but my point is.. if other people are in a pt. You seriously cannot expect to get max contribution, especially on a B rank.

Come to think of it, some level of server-size scaling on the hunts may actually be in order.

I see people claim there is a 500 seal cap somehow... Anyone can say more?
