hahaha. Tartarus server.Hmmm, since SE would loose a massive amount of money if they removed all the cheaters. Would it be acceptable to just throw them all on the same server and not let them change?
You want to cheat? Fine, but do it with your fellow cheaters because legit players do not want to see that crap.![]()

That's what rootkit does. Some anti-cheat tools (like Hackshield) have rootkits that will look for certain files in your PC (as the owner sets it) and shuts down your account if the rootkit catches one of those files. The problem is, rootkit is a malware and hack tools developers would find a way to bypass it in no time making it pointless to have a malware on your system for nothing. They can't do anything about third party apps without violating player privacy. Their software would require the ability to read all processes on your machine, which requires administrator level privileges. They'd be in violation of privacy laws in several countries.
edit: Just to clarify, I am referring specifically to those apps that read incoming data and not hacks, which effect ingame memory.

SE never gave a damn about botters on PVP. They are many and well known in the Wolves Den community. Now that the cat is out of the bag everyone's crying.

Even with botters in PvP, you can still PvP because you're matched inside instances and thus have a chance to get normal fights. You can't do that with open world content with limited mobs with timers. Which is affecting a vast majority of players world(server worlds)-wide.

Lol at people claiming the app is harmless. They either are doing it and trying to hide the true power of advantage or just begging to get themselves banned altogether.
If one person in an area uses the app, then yes the changes is far too miniscule to make difference.
Imagine an entire party or LINKSHELL filled with people running the same app scattered across an area.
You see the difference? Stop trying to make an excuse for cheating.
It's almost as pathetic as the comments that I see whenever someone claims A rank and pulls it before "The Masses" comes in for their one hit.

There appears to be some confusion regarding Third Party Software. I am replying to this thread to make it clear to anyone currently using, or interested in the use of Third Party Software.
It has been long established that any Third Party Software used in Final Fantasy XIV [regardless of platform, situation, or intent] is a violation, and against the Agreed Terms of Agreement.
Evidence found of using such hardware can result in warnings, bans, and even termination.
For any additional questions or concerns, please view the Terms of Agreement link:

Cheating is cheating. No matter how they try to word it.

Yes everyone who disagrees with you is a cheater, you got it.
Imagine those people doing the same thing legitimately! It's still a pretty big advantage. I agree that people shouldn't be using this app but you're just living in a fantasy land. It's undetectable and that's that. Maybe the creator will remove the functionality but I imagine players can simply readd it. The FROTH you people are working yourself up into over this application is what's really pathetic.
A lot of people aren't making excuses, a lot of people simply are overstating the functionalities of this application, and that's it. So people go to correct them and we get crazy posts like yours. Though if those people didn't bother to correct you, you'd still have people going on about how people are scanning zone wide and getting updates to their cellphones or something.

I'm not disagreeing that these programs should be dealt with (they really do need to do something about it.. Have needed to for months ever since that App started doing anything besides parsing)...
But from every SS i've seen the app radar only shows about 50 yards in any direction. Aka draw distance (which is exactly what it does according to a post on allakhazam I found).
This is hardly giving them some kind of super edge over the competition when it comes to finding hunt marks. The only difference is they don't have to turn their camera while running past.

One person may not seem like a lot, true. But when you have groups of people or even entire shells, that's more than enough for cover a zone, even more than one zone.I'm not disagreeing that these programs should be dealt with (they really do need to do something about it.. I just laugh at all the folks that try to defend it, because it's not as powerful as everyone says. So it's ok because it's only cheating a little? You should let your husbands/wifes know, that way while you are playing this game, they can go out and only cheat a little, and it should be ok. I know that is a bit of a stretch though the folks using the app are clearly douchebags, so it may be tough for them to find someone to put up with their ways.
