Sooooo anyone know if they're actually planning on addressing the hunts issue? Or is it just going to continue on like the current way it is? Even bringing up that people are using the radar app gets threads closed. Because apparently we're supposed to specifically know ourselves and report on a one-by-one basis if someone's using the plugin (which of course we wouldn't know unless they specifically say they are). Or, they could actually fix this by using some/any of the community's suggestions, but first they'd have to actually acknowledge that this system's setup pretty poorly to begin with. At least scaling or increasing the HP of the monsters alone would do something to help out the matter.

They at least addressed the frontline queue thing, and I have no problem with them trying to get people more gear. I'm just getting annoyed they've remained silent on this like there's absolutely no issue whatsoever, despite reddit and in-game discussions blowing up over the matter.

It's not like you magically get to see everything that's currently alive on the whole map regardless of where you are. Straight from the creators' mouth it's no different than you running around and visibly looking for these Marks. You can't see what isn't already within draw distance of your character. The image that was posted here on the forums isn't even accurate because they have it laid over the in-game map which isn't scaled properly.

People need to worry less about what others are doing and focus on the real issue, which is how quickly these Marks are getting killed. An S rank Mark that Yoshi said we'll want to "call for help" to kill is going down in 15 seconds from the time it's engaged. That's a bit ridiculous.

Its only 6:48 AM on a Sunday right now in Japan... Monday is the earliest they can begin to work on it.

Then up the rewards elsewhere. This finally feels like something worth doing for the transient reward it ends up yielding.

When I saw that the 'increase' in Myth for dungeons was from like... 50 to 70 per, that pretty much cemented that I was going to continue to avoid them and give up on upgrading my relic. With the amount of myth hunts put out, it seems like a decent proposition now.
I'm all for finding ways to improve 'the Hunt', but I'd like for any changes to be an actual improvement. Not just nerfing it to try and force people back into dungeons.

It's the weekend and all they have is forum posts. It'll be some time before they collect data and give official feedback.

Frontlines was literally unplayable before patch. What we got was a bandaid fix on the server side. Something that the NA team can test and implement. Hunts need design changes from the development team.

The simplest solution is to have other marked bills, and increase the rewards from the bills. Repeated killings of monsters have diminishing returns or monsters themselves don't drop anything.

Right now, I honestly feel like the whole Hunt dynamic is an absolute disaster... and Wolf Gang's excellent post on the first page gives all the clear, concise reasons why. Heck, there have been hunts that die within two seconds which means its dead before I can even get Scathe or Blizzard II off.

Its a horrible shame that the whole thing has degraded to this, because the concept of the hunt was an excellent feature from FFXII that I was particularly fond of... and at this point, the only way to make this work in FFXIV is to make the lower rank daily hunts become a player-spawned trigger (similar to how we currently do treasure hunts).

The Elite marks on the other hand need to become something similar to the Behemoth or Odin FATES. I believe these are the only real viable options at this point.

hunts is a form of cheap tacked-on "content" they didnt give much thought to, so dont expect them to actually put effort and time into making encounters unique or difficult. the system itself isnt terribly bad, but putting oils and sands on the vendor made this whole thing probably the biggest debacle since relaunch.

since 2.2 they try to slow down gearing as much as possible so i dont expect them to make the rewards easier to obtain. but leaving things in the current state is certainly not an option unless people simply get fed up with it (personally, i dont even bother, the shouts are too telling).
i think the best solution would be to simply make dailies worthwhile. upping the rewards from 1 to 5 seals would go a long way for many people.

Bumping this thread for great justice.
    THe message was very misleading.

Yoshida basically said "It will not be a system like FF11 where people fight over mobs"
Turns out, it's just like FF11 where people fight over mobs. (ಠ_ಠ)

The admins/staff have been very quiet about this and it's really gotten out of hand.
I realize this system needs a huge rework, but some words of "we realize we messed up and we're gonna rework it, here's a temporary solution while we do" would be nice.
