Uh it's been stated in this thread or others that the Radar addon is not doing what you guys are assumming it's doing. The real issue here is a full linkshell running around the whole world calling in zerg groups on everything and taking the high rank on them. Then they characterize their zerg monopolization of the content "good for the server" or something.

You mean radar isn't telling people what's up within a five map block radius? Because that's an enormous advantage. In the time it takes me to check every nook and cranny in one zone for a potential target somebody with radar has checked ten other zones.

Also, there's more than one radar programme and they have varying effectiveness. There's one person on Sargatanas who had admitted outside of the game (clever guy) that his radar tells him when something spawns, regardless of where he is in the zone. Don't assume that everyone is using the same 'cheap' programme. There are also people who play this game that are probably better at creating software than some of SE's team. That's not a dig based on the hunts or anything... There are some talented programmers out there who play video games.

Look I understand it's frustrating but focusing on some 'he said she said' about Radar programs you don't even know exist really is ignoring the underlying problem of the incentives, mob contribution, and mob health. It's not about "talented programmers" it's about someone peaking into data the server hasn't sent them yet. We're talking exploits of massive proportions and I'm not telling you they don't exist, I'm saying blaming some nebulous software because some guy on Sargantanas admitted he has a special hack that lets him see spawns anywhere just isn't enough evidence.

EDIT: Making these into bitchfests about cheating will not only muddle the actual good points, but probably just get the threads deleted. Unless FFXIV is doing something dumb like caching a rare mob into everyone's memory in the zone when it spawns rathern than when they see it, then most methods of finding a mob zone wide should be detectable since they're getting into server info.

I'm not going to assume there are apps that do this simply because people get to hunts sooner than me. I see these people walking around the map and I've gotten to mobs before there as well.

But I do know they exist. We're not all ignorant bleaters that complain about ghosts and specters so kindly don't tar me with that brush. Ironic, really, since you've just demonstrated your own ignorance on the subject.

Take a look at This Thread Here for a screenshot of a widely available app. That is the 'cheapest' and 'simplest' app available and that one app provides quite an enormous advantage, as I outlined before. In the time it takes me to run around one zone this one person, of hundreds using this radar, has scanned ten zones. He only has to cover a fraction of the ground I would have to cover to see all those monsters.

Just add a weekly cap to Allied marks, being able to get 10 sands in a week is massively OP anyway. With a cap, the elite FCs using apps or whatever will cap in a single day, allowing the more casual players the ability to find marks later on in the week.

I propose a cap of 750, just enough to get a sand a week. S ranks will still be server wide kills because you have a chance of getting a log even if you cap, but it will severely lessen the load on B and A ranks.

Wait, you mean Elite Marks are not capped, as in you can keep killing them and keep getting their seals constantly during the same week? If so, I see the gaping hole that should be filled to fix this problem.
