I'm convinced that the chocobo and crafting additions were planned by people that were responsible for similar systems on FFXI.
would you care to explain? I only played XI for about 7 days total playtime and gave up when I saw the ridiculous gear prices for the gear needed to beat maat.


If I had to guess,
Much like XI, all new recipes that have been added since release have required expensive/rare mats and requiring being a max level crafter regardless of the resultant item's level or utility (eg: the augmentation items, the spring dress a lvl 1 vanity item needing Vanya silk, twin thread, and a 2 star crafter). Unlike most other MMOs which will add new recipes across all level ranges, usually with vanity items being new low level recipes to keep old low level mats semi relevant.
Which of course brings me to the fact that SE and the FF MMOs have a problem with RMT... And to a degree with nonsense like the above it's hard to be surprised as they have a bad habit of bringing it upon themselves.
