    'Had' being the operative word.

WoW removed Elite enemies from it's open world maps. Everything that was dangerous out in the world is no longer, and if the single most popular MMO on the market decided that was the right choice, what are the chances other games are going to revert on that anytime soon?

AAA games don't take risks, they do what works. We may very well get more open world content, but it's unlikely to ever be dangerous to individuals passing by.

Oh, everyone? Or did you pull that out of your ass? From the huge discussion a few months back, it seem far less then *everyone* hated "stuff like that". Also... you don't *have* to go out and do stuff in the wild? Why do people always act like they are forced to do certain things. See Atma. To your last part: "If you like having your hand held so badly, go spend hours doing the same easy instance over and over"?

WoW removed elites from old world content when TBC came out due to it becoming outdate. TBC still had elites in certain areas. I don't recall any complaints about those high level areas due to it being the norm and expected, the only comments were from new players not being able to clear certain quests due to no one being able to help them (again cause it became outdated). I can't say post-TBC cause I quit by then.

Well just for information sake, they removed all Elites since then, as TBC was numerous expansions ago. I don't remember when, but at least as of Cata, open world Elites no longer exist.

Well, assuming that began in Cata, you had 5 years of growing sub rates to peak levels, the sharpest being the Vanilla and TBC era with the old system. It wasn't a "good choice", rather "a choice", and seeing as a lot of the choices Blizz made post-cata didn't sustain their subs for much longer (in fact starting a huge 7m decline in subs), it would seem that it's not a great indicator of what a good MMO makes. One should look at what they did when they were rapidly gaining subscribers, not when they plateaued and began losing them.

The best choices Blizzard did when designing their MMO was done when WoW was first launched, and improved on in TBC. The groundwork was built, and people got hooked. However, Blizz had failed to keep making those good choices, and have suffered since.

Lower. Is there any enemies in the beastman strongholds higher than 50? Heck, anywhere in the world higher than 50 (besides duties)?
