with the introduction of the Syrcus Tower stuff, I was just curious if some of the Syrcus Tower gear might be better than some other gear. But perhaps I was wrong in that assumption. I just know that for Scholar for example the Syrcus Tower gloves offer the best Crit Chance of any gear in that slot.

ST gear will not be better than a mix of High Allagan/upgraded Evenstar.

I don't know comparing the stats of the Syrcus Tower chest piece to the weathered or possibly even non-weathered, the ST chest seemed better.
Too bad i made the mistake to roll on Bard hat this week so must wait until next week

No, but it takes a lot of a secondary stat to have the same effect your primary stat would. And when you're talking about the difference of 10 item levels between gear, the lower item level gear will pretty much not come out ahead.

I wouldn't know, which is why I am waiting to hear from people who have actually done testing with various types of gear to determine what is best in slot at the current time.

All I know is that on Scholar the Scylla's Gloves of Healing (item level 100) is actually loads better than either the High Allagan Gloves of Healing, or the Daystar Gloves (both item level 110) simply because neither of the latter two have points in Critical Hit Rate but instead in Spell Speed and either Determination or Piety. Meanwhile Scylla's Gloves of Healing has 23 points of Crit which is way, way better for a Scholar than either Determination, Spell Speed, or Piety.

All I am wondering is if this kind of situation might have occurred for the Black Mage class the way it occurred for the Scholar.

Ramuhs pretty good for BLM, barely have to move if you're put on the right duties by your party ^.^. Use of Aetherial is limited though and Manawall is useless. Manaward good to get out of some potentially bad situations, most of Ramuhs attacks seem to be magic too, so Apocatastasis is good to throw out too! edit: new stuff vs. HA/Soldiery gear

High Allagan and Soldiery already had a decent mix of Accuracy/DPS gear. Soldery was mostly heavy on offensive stats where High Allagan is high on accuracy (for the most part, there are exceptions, belt/legs notably). Having a quick look at the stats of the new gears on Ariyala, the only thing that might be an upgrade over the 110 options is Ramuhs Ring replacing Evenstar if you can afford the accuracy drop

Alright so I managed to finished the new calculator while at work (<3 my job)

All that's left is stat weight table.. shouldn't take too long unless the result don't pan out the way I'm hypothesizing..

Anyways, I'm thinking about modifying it to where you guys can put in your own rotation (including AOE or w/e the hell you want). Just need to work out some technical stuff, and it should be ready by the end of next week if I don't slack off :P
