never done a treasure map or leve quest?I completely understand the complaints, but people seemed to fail to realize that open-world content is just that, open-world (accessible to anyone and everyone). If something isn't instanced, it WILL be zerg rushed or camped. That's the nature of MMO playerbases and there's really nothing that can be done about it other than making it impossible for players to attack enemies they previously killed. Camping mobs and zerg rushing are just something people are gonna have to suck up and deal with if they want open-world NMs.
Dear FFXIV players: GIVE UP ON OPEN WORLD CONTENT. IT DOESN'T WORK. Every single piece of content in this game was made with the mindset of 8 or 4 players and SET role requirements. Anything that breaks that mold will NOT work. Get over it please. And it only worked in FFXI cause there was CLAIMING. So the content was still balanced around a party with somewhat set roles
This, and the daily reward values are the only thing wrong with the content itself IMO. They should have several different hunts for the weekly target so everyone isn't looking for the same one.
I see your point on the tomes, but since soldiery has become available if you capped every week you would have a fully geared Job, including the tokens for a weapon. This week should also put you at enough tomes to start gearing an alt. Gearing alts doesn't need to take as long as gearing a main. There's nothing wrong with easy tomes now just like myth was easy to come by during all of 2.1. Tomes are back to what they were for the last CT patch.
You're just not hunting with the right group. I'll add you to the group I got into ^^. We all waited for a good crowd to show up, roughly a minute per mob, depending on location, worked really well. I only got to play for maybe two hours last night and managed to get about 100 seals between running my ex roulette and doing two alex maps.
That's not open world content, that's instanced content that happens to take place in the open world.
Those things have been around for 12 years to help locate, teleport to, and claim NMs if you're new to FF MMOs. I still don't bother trying with this current system though, cuz I only managed to get to one of those S marks twice in 6 hours and gave up.Are you talking about an actual thing here? I know this was common in World of Warcraft. However it wasn't half as bad as hunts because the rare mobs just dropped little toys and various things. So they'd be contested but not half as contested as these hunts will continue to be.
Same server, I ran hunts for 2 hours last night, 0 disconnects, 0 issues with lag, and full credit for almost every one of the hunts I made it to. You're taking liberties with the truth to try to skew the view on something pretty much everyone else likes.
The only issue for me is they need to make the HP pools dynamic just like they did with fates. Half the time your hunt LS will say somethings up, teleport, get to the zone "dead". That is my only gripe.
nope, can still aggro regular mobs while doing them, people can help you kill those mobs. pretty sure people can cure and raise you while you're doing them too.
you don't know what "instanced" means, Dhorme Chimera is instanced.
Yeah I just googled it, I guess it was added into FFXIV-APP some months ago, you're talking about it like the FFXI app was just ported over at launch or something. Though I think you might be overestimating the effect of it, I think most people are using linkshells and locs. I mean can you get individual mob spawn alerts?

You think SE would do the logical thing and try to split people up during these events.
Multiple hunts available and assigned one of many so you don't have the entire server clogging up the one zone.
Same server. Ran for 3 hours last night and I got full credit on nothing. Best I got was like 36 seals on the S rank that spawned in Coerthas... and I was lagging like crazy and saw D/C tags everywhere. My FC mate got 5 seals.Same server, I ran hunts for 2 hours last night, 0 disconnects, 0 issues with lag, and full credit for almost every one of the hunts I made it to. This might sound COMPLETELY crazy... but perhaps just MAYBE, not everyone is having the same luck as you?
You're right about what most people are probably doing, but not about how useful those tools are. I played XI for seven years on PC HNMing and no, you cannot overestimate their effects.Yeah I just googled it, I guess it was added into FFXIV-APP a few months ago, you're talking about it like the FFXI app was just ported over at launch or something.
