I think it should be made like this, if they purchase a private room and they get kicked, if they join another free company the room follows them.
I think that would be fair, instead of having to pay 300k for a new room and furnishing.

I agree, now you give the FC leader maybe officers too much power. People love the power of anonymity and act as such with cowardly antics. This now gives the FC leader and/or officers a button over others if choose to act as such. For example, You like pvp, leader/officer says it's for morons. You defend your belief, because their's was uncalled for. They continue to bash, and then you snap on them... and boom you get kicked. 300k gone over someone's over opinionated thought process.* As of patch 2.3, free company members who have purchased private chambers cannot be discharged from the free company. This will be addressed in a future update, so as private chambers will be vacated automatically upon discharging. this is on notes i hope it ansewers your ? but i do not like the fact you lose you room if they kick you
Best idea is

Ugh... why do they do stuff backwards... /sigh
I'm just a bun boy, doing bun boy things.

Why don't they just address it THIS patch? :/

I'm guessing this was an issue that was discovered at the last minute, and something that they'll rush to provide a solution too as soon as possible, in the next hotfix most likely.
... Yeah I think my optimism is running a wee bit to high and on the unrealistic side atm... I guess we'll just have to see.

My solution:
Moving box/voucher: If a player is kicked, their room is vacated and all their stuff is automatically put in a box and mailed to their character alongside a voucher they can use to redeem a chamber at another FC.
Since the private room is instanced, and the physical dimensions of the house are the same whether you have 10, 100, or even 500, why not this- SE could just say part of the 300k gil spent is for a Mage to create a 'portal' to a new room out in wherever it really exists ('The Housing Dimension') would be a lame name but that's the idea. Anyway when someone leaves or is kicked, that 'portal' would become closed off, and should the person add a room from within another FC, a portal from there gets reopened back to their room (which is instanced content anyway) and any items that they placed from their own collection and are thereby 'bound' to it would still be there. We're already talking about rooms that aren't physically in the house so the need for the room and all that's it to be lost is as unnecessary as it is artificial.
Remember the update made where if an FC's Master does not log in for x days, that mantle is passed onto another? I think that's where the most potential unfairness from this could arise, if everything is great in an FC now but in a few months' time FC leadership transitions to person B, who decides to kick one or more people they had a grudge against.

Looks like they mentioned it in patch notes, so at least it is clear
