I COMPLETELY disagree. I worked my butt off to lvl up BLM as it is my main, I have an animus and ilvl 96 so far. And what happened when coil T6+ was released? Suddenly no one wanted BLM as much in their groups. Why is that? Because unlike ALL of the other dps classes, we're the most immobile class. So I WELCOME this Single Target buff.

Black Mage is not immobile, we just sucked. We have enough abilities to negate most mechanics that force us to move. The simple fact of the matter is BLM single target was just bad, even when in perfect turret-dps scenarios.

I don't understand the rage against a suggestion to tweak aoe dps balance after this. It seems like it would be logical. Everyone always said "BLM is supposed to be weaker, it's the trade-off for their AOE damage."

But now that the raiding content isn't geared toward that balance, the need for a ST buff seems to throw that out the window. I realize they will still be behind melee, but if they're now much more competitive in ST damage, I don't see why other classes shouldn't end up more competitive in AOE damage.

I don't buy the "who cares AOE doesn't matter in end-game" argument either. For one, it's just not a good reason to not work toward a balance. If they don't ever do it and then do make another T4 or something, then BLM becomes arguably too valuable. Plus, it's kindof a straight lie anyway. Pretty much any BLM will claim to get a significant dps increase by getting opportunities to flare even a couple targets (bulbs, dreads).

In any case, it doesn't matter. The majority of the game's content is not end-game. You spend just as much, if not more time in Bray speedruns capping your soldiery or getting myth for alts/relic etc. It's not insane that you should want to play your main job without much of a loss of efficiency in light of these buffs. Is there an absurdly huge difference between a BLM and non-BLM SR? No, but it's significant and min/maxing matters to a lot of the community.

Agreed. Every other DPS class can still dps while moving. I love BLM but its not my main specifically because in fights that require constant movement it is just not very feasible. The added damage that blm can probably wont completely fill that gap but its something.
