So having to fly across the world and pay a ridiculous amount of money to buy the ticket, air fare, hotel, food, etc...while others only need to buy the ticket because it's nearby seems fair? You must live near one of the events.
Hardly fair.

Since when was life fair? People travel across the world/country to go to Anime Expos and Comic Conventions all the time.

This isn't life, this is a video game we're talking about. Ultimately we want the two to remain separate as much as possible.
Are you okay with the addition of a cash shop Tupsi? Because as I see it you seem to be okay with items being locked exclusively behind payment walls. If you're arguing that it's okay for these items to be exclusive only to those who could fork out the cash to go to this Fanfest then I don't see why you would have anything against them being sold individually, or any in game items being sold from SE at all.
There should be no in game reward for going to Fanfest. It's a convention for the players to meet and engage directly with the development/community team and be in the presence of like-minded gamers. If there is any in game item then it should be offered to everyone equally and there should be no limit on the amount supplied for the duration it is sold.

And that is why people like playing games, because it is fair. Everyone pays the same subscription and everyone has access to everything the game offers. Doesn't matter where you were born, poor or rich, white or green, male or female.
I prefer keeping the game like that. No reason why you have to mix it with real life.
